The guy is a mercenary and only plays for himself. No thanks.

Yeah - like he sends approximately 80% of his wages home to his extended family in Africa. Some mercenary !!!!!!

Didn't he refuse to play for Togo some time back because his bonus wasn't sorted or something? Sorry but the guy is a kunt. Maybe it's that stupid dance he done when we knocked Arsenal out of the CL but i've never liked the guy.

We made several mistakes in the summer end of story. Downing is over rated and whats worse he is past his best and Carroll is still pretty raw. Without any decent service he is dogshite.

We need to make some wholesale changes, starting with a new striker who can play alongside Suarez now.

I think we have to start Carroll. Neither Kuyt or Bellamy are the future, so I don't think we have any choice. Carroll needs game time, both for his sharpness and his confidence. I think while Suarez is out Carroll has to start EVERY one of those games, and he needs to finish a good number of them. If we do that, I think we'll find that he finishes in a few of those games. Suarez's ban may be a blessing in disguise - he gets a rest, Carroll gets his mojo back, and come the end of the season we are flying.

Please no Defoe... I think he's so badly overrated.  Like others have said he's selfish as hell, and when you play for a club that's good at scoring goals like Spurs, a player like him can look better than he is.

Remember last season he only had 4 goals in 20 premier league games, and I know at least one of them was a pen, so that's really no better then what we've got.  He's been  bit more clinical this season obviously, but spurs are flying high right now.

Bent is probably more like the player we need, but I fecking hate that guy too... Out Christmas shopping why his villa mates are getting beat by us... I don't care who you are or who you think you are, he should have been watching that game.

Somebody like Demba Ba would be great, and I knew from the start Newcastle made a great signing, but he'd cost way too much.  If we wanted to go cheaper to hold us over until the summer and not get taken advantage, we could look at somebody like Franco Di Santo, Heider Helguson has been really impressive, and Shane Long would probably do better here than at WBA.

Any of those boys would probably be capable of doing well for us.

People need to stop with the Rodellega links as well... I know he's free in the summer but the guy is garbage.  Hasn't even scored a goal this season, and he's just not good.

Completely agree. Carroll will come good with games, goals and confidence.

I'm personally not sold on Carroll as the right sort of striker for this Liverpool team. But without Carra in the backline we'll see less of the hoof ball which blighted us during Carroll's appearances earlier on (which was hardly Carroll's fault), and given time to find his feet I think his mobility will improve.

And I simply don't see the point of getting in someone else in January, given their likely quality and value for money. Even a loan signing will probably need time to settle in. Seems to me we have a striker on the bench and we need to give him time to prove himself. If we do that, I'll happily call for him to be sold in the summer if he is useless. But, I think that if we give him time on the pitch, we'll find that he is a young player who we'll be glad to have in our squad for a few seasons yet.

Certainly, despite how exciting we look at times, we have a problem finishing, and Suarez is a part of that problem when he plays up top. I think Suarez becomes part of the solution when he is behind or beside someone else. All I'm saying is that until the summer window I think Carroll is our best bet for that someone else, so we need to bite the bullet and give him time to become that person.

Our players don't seem to have the intelligence to make the right runs into the right areas to attack the ball. Watch Newcastle's two goals yesterday as a prime example. Ball cut back from the bye-line for Ben Arfa on the penalty spot. Perfectly timed run, simple finish. This is what Adam and Henderson should be doing more. Second goal Ba's movement infront of the defender was top class. Nobody does this for us as Suarez most of his work out wide and Carroll is not that type of player. Bellamy could do this but he plays out wide now aswell. We don't have enough bodies centrally full stop. All our attacking threat is coming from wide areas.

Unless Gerrard is playing our midfielders sit too deep, I can't recall the last time I saw Henderson or Adam break forward trying to get on the end of something.
Yesterday there were several times we had a corner as they cleared to the edge of the box there were no red shirts in sight. Them 2 were yards away.
We have to change the way we play, there is no creativity in midfield at all.
A playmaker in the Modric or Mata mould is a must.

I can't figure Kenny either, Henderson plays nearly every game, Bellamy has had little game time, I don't get it.

We have to give Carroll a run of games and be will score.  I don't know how many back to back games he has played but it can't be many.  I thought he played well against Blackburn. He tracked back, linked up well and was unlucky not to score. He needs some confidence and I'd he got a goal  quite early on I think he would blossom.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
