After getting kicked out of the boxing thread for calling boxing a noob  :D , its time UFC/MMA have its own thread. I really enjoy watching UFC when I have the chance. First time I got to watch UFC live was back in April 2010 in Yas Island Abu Dhabi, from there on I started becoming a fan of the sport.

Really looking forward to the next event, Brock Lesnar vs Overeem.

I watched the first UFC in '94 (I think) and it was a lot tougher and brutal. The winning fighter had to have not one fight as it is now but had to win about four fights in one night. The later fights were more about the previous fights injuries than anything as fighters had to fight with cuts and broken hands. What i remember about that first UFC was a tall skinny bare knuckle Dutch fighter against a Sumo wrestler. What a massacre that was! The Dutch fighter kicked him in the face at one point and knocked two teeth out, you could see them leave his mouth on camera. That was the last Sumo wrestler we ever saw in the UFC.

Also that is when we learned about Gracie Jujitsu.

Royce, he weighed 175lbs when all the others weighed about 250lb and we all thought he would get killed. Also on that card and fought and lost to Royce was Ken Shamrock, first tapout in the UFC.

Shamrock then fought Royce again in UFC 3 as an exibition fight and lost again but gave Royce a real beating. Royce never competed in the UFC again.

I don't know much about history, but I know Matt Hughes and Renzo were top MMA fighters back then :D

Right now, I don't see anyone beating GSP or Anderson Silva in their respective classes. I heard rumors about GSP going up a class just to fight Silva. Now that is a match I would love to watch

I like watching UFC especially the TUF series. Favourite has to be Rashad vs Rampage. Awesome series and fight by the coaches.

At the moment in the light heavyweight Jon Jones is the champ defending his title twice, recently overcoming Machida.

Yeah Jon Jones is becoming cocky like Rashad now.

Wanderlie should just retire now his ruining his rep, 6 losses ladt 9 fights. Similar to what chuck did.

Micheal Bispeng is abit of a d*ck aswel. Think his from Manchester.
