Kenny might go back to the 5-3-2/ 5-4-1 formation with Kelly as the middle defender who might not replace Lucas' actual role but do much of the cleaning up Lucas did and allow Enrique and GJ more freedom to get forward and give distribution from the back. Thoughts?

Surely shirley is this not an oppurtunity for henderson to play centre?

Ok so he is not exactly a holding midfielder........( not sure of the type of midfielder he is yet ) but lol ( errrm think im convincing myself he cant Play there ) this is a chance for him to shine. Adam could play a semi holding role?....... Its only fulham ( famous last words ).

before we do some crazy stuff like playing our LB as midfielder and playing our youth defender as midfielder, can we maybe try something straight forward like play a midfielder as a midfielder (Shelvey and Henderson?

)

Adam + Spearing seems more sensible to me, with Henderson coming on in place of Spearing if we need to boost our attack.

calm down guys...we can get over Alonso, Mash, Judas I, Judas II, and Gerrard, we can get over Lucas.

He'll do a job but he's nothing like Lucas in any way shape or form. They are completely different players which is why the com[limented each other so well at the end of last season. Even then the main reason why that partnership worked was Lucas' game intelligence, reading of the game and tactical discipline. With Jay's energy, quick passing and pressing we had a great partnership.

I like Shelvey but I don't see him playing in a two. He's been essentially playing off the front man whilst out on loan.

They will patch up the hole left by Lucas until January then recruit a replacement in the window. Lads like Spearing and Shelvey are only there as stop gaps and soon as that window opens they will be in for proper cover for Lucas make no mistake about it.

Disagree, Parker's a superb player, been brilliant for the last 2 seasons - I believe we could have had him at that time for 4 feckin million.
