LUCAS LEIVA - OFFICIAL THREAD

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 7_Kewell » Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:47 pm

according to reports, he's out for 6 months.

However, i think there's a lad called Steven Gerrard who might be able to step into Lucas' mighty shoes  :p

Just heard Gerrard might be back in the next week or two

absolutley gutted for lucas and for the club. The in-form player, and could have gone on to be player of the season for us.

Thought as much. If now was ever a time for someone like Henderson, Spearing or Shelvey to step up and prove any doubters wrong - it's NOW.

I have faith.

Liverpool FC said today a scan had confirmed an injury to the Anterior Cruciate Ligament in Lucas Leiva's left knee.

"The Brazil international will undergo surgery and unfortunately be ruled out for the remainder of the current campaign."

i am not that worried in a way that i know Spearo can fit in nicely,
i am more worried that how a serious injury can affect Lucas in the long term,
especially when he was at sky high confidence now...

An ACL tear is very bad for any athlete. Many never get back 100%, let's hope he can!

A lot of players have had a similar injury to this and come back. Off the top of my head Van Nistelrooy, Shearer and Roy Keane to name but a few. Lucas is a lot younger than those guys were when they had the injury and it is a well known fact that younger guys heal quicker.

I have every belief that Lucas will be back better than ever next season. He's one of the strongest player's mentally I've seen especially when you consider some of the flack he used to get oof his own supporters.
