The National call arguement is a joke and i would say it for the million time, Lucas is in Brazil squad because of Liverpool. It is our huge name and prestige which gave him the spot. Talking with other Brazilians they all scratch their heads at this decision.

With all said and done ,Lucas is having a decent year so far and is still improving.

Can't understand what's with all the criticism of Lucas, he's a good player and very important for our midfield. Not saying he's world class and that he can't be improved on, but the job he's doing in midfield is very important and no one else from our midfield can do it as good as him... don't think anyone can do it at all actually. Doesn't "LFC player of the year" mean anything to the critics?

Wow - 2 players on Newkit forum disagree with me as opposed to international and top class managers agreeing with me - who has more credibility - a couple of posters on a forum or top class managers ?

As for only being with the Brazil squad because he is at Liverpool - what utter :censored:

- why wasn't Anderson called up when he is at Man Utd or Fabio ? Why is he also played and called up again - let me guess - because the manager thinks he is good enough .

aren't they . Only 4th in the world , only lost 3 times in the last two years to Argentina ( who they recently beat with Lucas in team ) , France and Germany .

Actuelly the most credible source is a pair (even one is enough) of healty eyes and some integrity and honesty.

I don't put managers on a pedestal and agree with every decision they take ,Lucas is an avarage player and god knows we had so many other places needing addressing so who knows why this position wasn't handled..Yet.

Just not too long ago we had Mash and Alonso which we all agree were better players ,and even they weren't considered the best in the PL at their position..Your just lowered the Bar.

have u watched Brazil recently? they have been poor since Mano Menezes took charge and are not one of the top sides at present, he is also Lucas former manager at club level so obviously has a soft spot for him.

Maybe that position wasn't handled because the manager believe's the player in that position is good enough .

Credible people are one's who are in the profession and being successful in that profession - not Internet fans on a forum .

Mash and Alonso are history , you don't have to have the new player in the prem for them to be good enough . They are all part of a team - the sum of all the parts - if you are old enough to remember the 80's , Kenny wasn't about flooding teams with world stars it was about getting players to fit in a team and to work in a team - we have always been about the sum of all the parts and Lucas is a big part - he isn't a Masher or an Alonso he is Lucas who constantly improves and shows he is good enough to be in our team .

Watched them beat Argentina recently .

Brazil would beat most of the top sides in the world bar Spain Holland and Germany - they would hand England a lesson.

Come on give me a break ,so let's close the forum and say Amen to every decision the "Proffesional" takes. We took the CL with Traore so does that mean he was a good player? We were terrible under Rafa the past years so is he considered a succesfull in his proffesion?

I accept your arguement on the sum of all the parts but you are the one which made personal comparisons to other players...I'm marely saying quality wise he isn't in the first 10 players in his position.

In the prem - yes he is - I'm still in shock you mentioned Cattermole ?!

Ace mentioned Parker , he is one I would take but there is certainly not ten better in his position in the prem .

Plus do name them but don't insult us by mentioning Cattermole !!

What's with some of you? If that's mine or Thommos opinion, deal with it. No need to try and argue till your blue in the face reeling of names now is there? He is a good squad player but if we have aspirations of top 4, we need to be aiming higher.

Our team in the 80's would wipe the floor with this current side. Is Downing better than Barnes, Lucas better than Mcmahon? etc ofcourse there not the Liverpool sides of the 80's had loads of top players. To win the big trophys you have to have top players, we simply dont have enough of them, thats why we finish outside the top 4. Personally i beleive with Lucas in the starting line up we could possibly get back in the top four, but we would never challenge for a league title.
