"The citizens of Bradford behaved with quiet dignity and great courage. They did not harbour conspiracy theories. They did not seek endless further inquires. They buried their dead, comforted the bereaved and succoured the injured. They organised a sensible compensation scheme and moved on. Is there, perhaps, a lesson there for the Hillsborough campaigners?"

The f.ucking audacity of it!

Who is this arrogant k.unt when he's at home.

Popplewell criticised families of the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives when they were crushed to death at the FA Cup semi-final for seeking further inquiries into the disaster.
Popplewell wrote in a letter to The Times: "The citizens of Bradford behaved with quiet dignity and great courage. They did not harbour conspiracy theories. They did not seek endless further inquires. They buried their dead, comforted the bereaved and succoured the injured. They organised a sensible compensation scheme and moved on. Someone should crush the life out of that arl co'ck sucking tw@t!!!

What a knob, let him put himself in those families' shoes, is it wrong to demand justice?

Hmm, let's see, a fire that started underneath a wooden structure, what other inquires could be made?  Heat rises.  It was a horrible tragedy!!  But it is explainable.  Much different than opening a gate and not having the precence of mind to have staff available to direct people into the side pens when the center one was already over crowded.  Let a lone all the other idiotic decissions that led to the crush.

The thing is why does it take a Liverpool MP and Trevor Hicks to criticise the tw@t?
Why havent other MPs, the government, the PM and others come out publicly and tell him to shut his Fu*king big dirty mouth!!!!

Exactly mate. The same reason why it's taken 22 years to get anywhere near this point.

The Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has criticised a retired judge who suggested the families of Hillsborough victims should move on and drop their "conspiracy theories".

Sir Oliver Popplewell, who chaired the public inquiry into the 1985 fire at the Valley Parade stadium, which killed 56 people, called on the Liverpool families to look at the "quiet dignity and great courage" that relatives of the Bradford victims have shown in the years following the tragedy.

Dalglish said he was not aware of Popplewell's comments, and offered a dismissive response. "Who is he? Why should he make someone else's mind up?" said Dalglish, who was in his first stint as manager at the time of the 1989 disaster.

"I don't think he should be interfering. It is not comparable. Each one is equally as important to the people who have been involved in it as the other.

"I don't know who the guy is or what he said but certainly the Hillsborough families have been hugely complimented on their dignity and how they have gone about what they want to achieve.

"If two people have different opinions it doesn't mean either is right or wrong, you do what suits you best. Our families have been fantastically dignified in their approach and also, after 22 years, very patient and the least they deserve is some comfort."

Worse than that. He asks the families to behave like sheeps. No demand of justice. Just shup up and move on. Don't think. Don't use your rights. I know the concept, because that concept is what they drill in your brain in a country with a dictatorship and we had that message broadcasted during 40 years here. That Tory maggot probably would like to live in a dictatorship in which the citizens shut up and move on.

A judge telling people how to behave. Unbelievable.  :veryangry

You shut up and move on when your girlfriend dumps you, or you get overlooked for a promotion at work.

When you lose your loved ones, when they are tragically lost and no one will tell you how; you do not move on. Not ever.

What a total idiot.

popplewell's words are just the senile ramblings of an old man far removed from the real world. barely worth even commenting on, nobody gives a monkeys what the rambling old fart says any more - probably not even his family
