It's not that crazy, if as you would like Carra was dropped, then he would  probably be the most viable option, given Stevie's still not back.

???

Pepe Reina is a better leader and so is Suarez.

Lucas doesn't lead by example

Keepers are generally rubbish captains, and im not sure Pepe can be harsh enough on players, he's everyones mate, Lucas has been taking charge on the pitch over the last year, both verbally and through his performances. Suarez captain? Not a chance, first of all he can hardly communicate with the rest of the team. best skippers are usually defenders and midfielders.

Suarez was the captain of Ajax, and he is currently our best player, he leads by example on the field, You can see sometimes how he instructs players what to do, just watch him next game, Lucas doesn't. Pepe is brilliant in communicating to his players.

Better leaders than Lucas will ever be.

Lucas shouldn't be captain.  But he should always be in the first 11 when fit.

Really? what did he exactly do to prevent double figures? Did you see how many chances Tottenham missed? it would have been 6-0 or 7 if it wasn't for the missed chances. Luca Modric and Parker absolutely destroyed us in midfield, Lucas was chasing shadows

I didnt get much before the sending off(was in bed hungover). But we were the worse team.Theres no doubt that we would have got better as the game went on if it wasnt for the sending off.

Spurs were one up at the sending off.Lucas cant be to blame for anything after that and if anything prevented alot worse from happening.Away from home against a decent team and with only 9 men for 40 minutes is a result that you take and go with. His point being that if we didnt have a steady player  in the middle like Lucas if could have been a cricket score.

You cannot blame a centre mid for anything if he is stuck in the middle being overun against 11 when his team is missing two players. As much as Lucas wasnt great before the sending off,we probably wouldnt have improved but that cant be proved. Also the difference between the two teams before the sending off was a great goal from outside the box with one of our centre backs injured. They missed chances but you can only feel that if Agger didnt get injured and we had 11v 11 for the whole game we would have had a good chance of winning or drawin at least.

Even at that no blame should be put on him,Criticism should be thrown towards Adam and Skrtel for getting themselves sent off.Two internationals players, although hard done by for maybe a yellow card were stupid.Il slag Lucas off is he is bad but everyplayer was bad at the weekend .Its one of them games we should prob all forget about and move on.No was good .

Boss again at the weekend.Even better with Gerrard beside him.Last time we saw that was against United and we scored 3 past the champions that day. Gerrard and Lucas in the middle and we score two and completly shut out Everton.

Seems as though they both suit each other well. They seem to get on well, play football and the ground and like to keep ball.It will work well as Gerrard can up the tempo if needed but do we need to have Adam thrown in too or is 4-4-2 alright.

Agree.  Lucas and Gerrard is the best CM we have.  Gerrard has great attack, but lacks a bit in defense at the moment, but Lucas makes up for it.  Lucas isn't the best attacker, but he keeps the ball flowing well.

Iker Casillas, Oliver Kahn, Dino Zoff and Schmeichel are just a few goalkeepers who have made captain and been successful.

I wouldn't say goalkeepers "generally" make rubbish captains as some of the names above dispel that myth.

I also believe Reina can be harsh enough on his team-mates, do you not see him go ballistic when his defense and midfield allow the opposition to take 25 yard pot shots? I think he'd make a great captain personally, certainly a better one than Lucas - IMO Lucas still needs guidance and players around him to lead the way.

Lucas needs to be rested. We've a full squad now to pick from.

V Man Utd, he was not able to raise his game at all (Out of his depth). He was so sloppy. ANd he always passed to the nearest man, or backwards passed...Compare that to Xabi Alonso, who used to spray the ball Everywhere on the pitch. Adam or Gerrard can now play that semi Holding role....

he's had one bad game ffs. and what the hell is the point of comparing him to alonso? completely different players who perform different roles for the team. to say he was "out of his depth" is just clueless. i've seen him be the best player on the pitch in games against united in the past.

i agree that he looked tired though which is hardly surprising considering he'd travelled half way round the world in the week. in many ways you could say he's timed his suspension right. we should be able to beat norwich comfortably without him in the side anyway.
