To me and thousands of others yes, Liverpool FC is the only club that matters - does this really grate you?

The rest of your post actually mirror's your old rivals' recent approach that 'beautiful' football is the be all and end all of football. Results come first lad, and secondly if you believe Kenny & co believe in 'pragmatic' football then you're as naive as you sound.

We even sang 'Where's your famous atmosphere' and you had nothing in reply

Yeah, Anfield gets that a lot (it's original), not only because others like yourself included wish to be as original and unique in support of your own team as we are of ours. But because jealousy invokes small fish syndrome to bark a bit louder.

You cling to the past because that's all you have.

You're the one who keeps bringing up our past, a sign of your own inferiority perhaps, we're looking to the future, not "ridiculously" like wobbly face did with your team. We're realistic in believing we can finish in fourth spot as the futures bright, and Liverpool RED. :;):

I brought up your past because I respect it.

If I want to make a point about your club's current failings here, I think it's important I do so whilst acknowledging your successes.

No one can doubt Liverpool's success, be they Spurs, United, Everton, Chelsea, or whoever.

We sing 'Where's the atmosphere?' because there isn't any!

If that's unoriginal, then YOU LOT need to fix it as you've been found out.
Trust me, Spurs, Chelsea and whoever else aren't sitting down and planning that one.

Your support is clearly :censored:.

And I'm glad you feel Liverpool matters, I'd expect nothing less.
For Newport County fans their club is the be all and end all as well.

My point is, for the rest of us, Liverpool aren't.

You are boring.

You know the classic scene where the American copper turns up and says "There's nothing to see here".

That's Liverpool these days.

So now the discussion is going from our support is better than yours.  :glare:

Envy Dave is in the eye of the beholder.

My point is, for the rest of us, Liverpool aren't.

Well in your case it must, as a Tottenham fan on a Liverpool FC forum.  :upside:

I don't envy you mate.

I don't envy your club.

I have no reason to.

We have a fine history.

And a better future.

That's a bit rich considering Coppers had to protect your ground after the ticket office had been looted  :p

And what happened?

A day later the Scousers chavs copied the London ones!

And still failed.

Look, my point here was to just address some silly blind faith in your team this season.

If you ask me, you'll be lucky to break the top 6.

I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

If you lot want to get historical, and a bit sly, I have all the cards.

For every Liverpool highlight, there is a nasty lowlight.

I don't want to bring stuff up, but you are the ones with form.

I can't remember the last time I watched Liverpool and was genuinely excited about your football.

You're like a fancy Birmingham

You are arrogant beyond belief.

Here's a story for you:

I didn't make it last season (when we done you 2-0 with ease), but I was at Anfield for the previous two Prem matches between our clubs and you lot were embarrassingly quiet.
You were as poor a home crowd as I have have seen in the flesh.

Fulham were better than you.

How do you respond to that?

FULHAM HAD BETTER SUPPORT THAN YOU.

We even sang 'Where's your famous atmosphere' and you had nothing in reply.

NOTHING.

You cling to the past because that's all you have.

Right now, you need to realise you are a poor side.

The 4-0 was literally easy.

It was EASY.

EASY.

DogshIte of a club . As bam say's you will be turning on each other come mid season when you've had a bad run . Dogsh!te club , corrupt manager and awful awful support . That's my opinion tarra.

i barely post on here myself these days either, but.... FFS dave, what do you expect?? you come on a liverpool forum, all 'respectful' and everything and respectfully point out to us lot who live and breath the club that we are actually quite mediocre. what was it that gave you this incredible urge to come over here and say that? and why are you so surprised that we didn't all just smile sheepishly and say 'you know what, mate - thanks for that. you're right'?

we know that we aren't as good as we used to be, and we know that we need to put in some work to get back there. you'll also see that the vast majority of us are realistic about the situation and that we don't live in the past. we also know that we have an excellent manager who is respected by most people in football. we have quality owners. we also have a sprinkling of genuine class, and a few others who are good or at least promising. the potential is there if we manage it properly. we'd probably happily take modric or bale off your hands.... and maybe sandro.... but that's about it, ta.

you might have thought you were coming over here to make a friendly point, but when you go onto another club's forum and start making unprovoked comments about their their shortcomings then you are hardly going to be mr popular are you? think about it for a second and then bugger off back to your own forums and fantasise about what a massive and successful club you're going to be.

1: HR will probably take over as England boss when Fabio leaves very soon. Then you'll have someone like Ian McClaren knocking on the door.

2: "we were here before you and will be here when you are gone" errrr, hello, what are you on about ?  Just ssshhhh a minute and listen to yourself. Whether you were here before us is irrelevant.  The argument is just nonsense and sounds like it is from someone very very young. Grow up.

3: Entertaining football, hhmmm, yes, we have been a little slow to start, but we are picking up momentum, and yes, we will start playing the kind of football that we LFC fans are used too, the pass and move.

"I can't remember the last time I watched Liverpool and was genuinely excited about your football"

It doesn't matter if we are boring, why do you care ?  and why would you want to get excited about our football, I reckon (go on admit it) you really love LFC don't you. You love LFC with all your heart, and your post is just a psychological thing to get everyone motivated to do better...

Don't rise to the bait lads, whatever Spurs do will be a flash in the pan and then down the pan.

Sure they looked very good the other day.... but I remember back in 78 when they thought Ricky Villa and Ossie Ardiles were the answer to their problems. They've never built a sustainable challenge and they wont now.

So don't know what the fuss is all about.

Dave
You started off with valid points that could have been discussed and debated in a mature manner
Now you have maybe shown your true colours with the immature way you have continued your argument
Spurs are a decent side with some good and not so good players and in my opinion will be, alongside the manchester clubs and chelsea, in the mix for the top 4.
However I believe youre getting carried away with your premature excitement and if your team was as good as you made out, they would have absolutely tw@tted us the other week. If we were as bad as you make out, why didnt you score double figures if it was that easy? You were only winning one nil when we were down to 10 men and it was over an hour before you scored your second. That was after we were down to 9 men! If your team was as good as you say then why did it take until 66 minutes to score the second?
Wind your neck in Dave and smell the coffee. Spurs are playing well but this is as good as it gets for you. We havent hit our stride yet but we are still above you.
Nice try but a fail Im afraid

Spurs are a decent side and will be in the mix for CL places, without question.  But, it's a bit rich for Dave to come on here and chide us for having elevated expectations.  Spurs have been "knocking on the door" for how many seasons now and yet never really seem to kick on.  In fact, Dave might do well to remember that they only managed to finish four points ahead of us last season despite us having one of our most disruptive seasons in history off the pitch and one of our most dire seasons in terms of results on the pitch.  We've improved our squad significantly since then and have sorted out the board room problems.  If I were him I'd probably be less smug and more concerned...it's far from certain that they have the quality or the mentality to get back into the CL.  :;):
