Of course there are, just have to look for them. But they sure as **** won't be british cause they are not available. But there has to be others. If Suarez as a forward didn't need CL why shouldn't there be midfielders of his class that are willing to come.

Ignoring your "Wasted 100 million"  bit for now, instead of this broadbrush "Of course there are, just have to look for them.."

Okay well for starters, why don't you give us some names of players that you think would improve our midfield...And please tell us how or why you think they would come to LFC at the present time.

[quote]

Good Yank, you made a very good point there. Today's players are mercenaric and football for a top PL side is all about qualifying for CL and using that as a platform to buy star players. And Liverpool at the present time will have a tough time attracting star names because no CL football, plain and simple.

Even if we're lucky to get them (Suarez for example) they won't stay for long if we continue finishing 6th/7th every season. I can put my house to bet that he will want to leave for CL pastures if we continue to fail to qualify for CL for a few more seasons. I am sure Suarez came because he needed CL football and he is hoping Liverpool can provide that for him.

Very simple, if you had the qualities of Messi as a professional player, 2 clubs one with almost guaranteed CL football every season and one finished 6th in PL last season and are still a Work In Progress club, which one would you rather go? I think the answer is obvious.

Footballers, unlike white collar professionals retire young, they don't have the time to be patient with their club employers to provide that coverted CL football for them. Take the case of El Sulko, as a fan, I hated him for leaving us, but if I were him, I'd probably done the same but not in his abrupt manner of course but at the end of the season.

35 million pound :D

35 Million pounds is around 53 Million USD at the moment.

I wonder how many poor talented Brazilian kids you could buy for that  :eyebrow

I'm quite happy to give the lad all season if he needs it , because i have seen with my owns eyes how unplayable he can be , he could be a beast . In all honesty he has been pure dogshIte for us (accept the game against city) and he needs to sort himself out pronto . Poor control .poor passing , very very lazy and a moaning c.unt to boot . Looks like a fourth choice striker at the mo and he will end up that if he doesn't start to get his head down and work at his game .

I have to admit to be slightly concerned about the form of Carroll and I also struggle to see where he will fit in once Gerrard is back and fully fit as I can see Kenny playing a fairly fluid front 4-5 with Suarez, Bellamy, Kuyt, Gerrard and Downing all linking playing!!

That's the main concern... his attitude in playing for the club. I've seen his Newcastle games and he is alot more involved and enthusiastic... he was running and jumping at defenders like a human battering ram and most defenders couldn't contain his physicality. You couldn't believe he's the same player now...

I hope he wasnt been rested the other night for tomorrow's game.  We should start with Bellamy and Suarez.

I still believe he is struggling because of the way we are playing.

For example if we play Suarez up front and only ever crossed the ball so he could head it in he would also look :censored:.

When Andy was playing for Newcastle they played to his strength, lots of balls into the box where he was always within 5ft of Nolan.  So he either scored or knocked it to Nolan too score.

Thats not going to happen here, but it would be nice if we mixed up our play a little so we played to both Carrolls and Suarez's strengths which would surely make us more difficult to play against
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Andy Carroll could be transformed by Gerrard's crossing and distribution  ,we could see a completely different player.

I dont think hes got his head round it yet
Hes come from being the big fish in a small pond to just another team member in a massive club. Except that he has a price tag round his neck and the expectations of the country on his shoulders.
I believe he is finding it hard to cope. Should he admit that he has a mountain to climb and has to change his attitude and way of life? In other words become a different person.
Or should he play it down and say he doesnt have to change and he doesnt give a sh'it about the price tag or the expectations. In other words stay the same person. The problem is he is not the same person and he must change.
It is overwhelming him, which is why he is giving such lacklustre, indifferent performances.

I still believe Andy will do the business. He has it all there to be up there with Toshack, Keegan, Rush, Fowler, owen and all the others who are LFC front man legends.  He is such a powerful scary fekker, he has a great shot on him and can dominate defences. He is also a great lad who of course likes a few beers, but you dont ever read about him twittering some bull about Morrisey like a certain Joey Barton. He reminds me of the old pros who were about in the 70s and 80s.

Carroll was completely useless today. He is not going to impove to a point where you could justify his price tag. Wtf was Kenny doing taking off Suarez? Take off the best player to try and make the worst player gain some confidence!

:Oo:

Are you serious?

Carroll had his best game today.  Worked as hard as anybody, played really well with Suarez, and was unlucky not to score.  Had that header off the corner that was saved nicely and hit the post with another.  Barely had any fouls called against him.  Got a bs yellow card when he didn't touch the player.  Was all over the place and was showing some confidence.

Carroll was one of our best players today, and I think he deserves a start against Everton after that.

whaaaaat? ????? It was his best performance in a Liverpool shirt today, he looked really good and so unlucky not to score, he just lacks a bit of confidence in front of goal.

For the first time in a while I felt he looked like a quality player and I echo Kenny Dalglish's comment that he looked good.

His linkup play with Downing and Suarez looked good, and for the first time I thought that he and Suarez could work
