kenny's defence of him today in his press conference was just brilliant and exactly what you'd expect from the king.

Yeah, that was great from Kenny sticking up for his player.

I hope Carroll can repay Kenny for that. A goal against Stoke would be fitting.

I suspect that was exactly Kenny´s intention, to lay down the challenge.

Carroll.... is he as fragile as Gazza proved to be?  There's more than a small doubt in my mind.

"verbal diahorrea"?
"playing to the crowd"?

As usual, very cleverly played by Kenny. And on a plus it was nice to see him tell some journos to fk off too.

After that presser I think hell give Andy the nod up front against Stoke.  I wasn't sure he'd play a part but after that you get the feeling Andy wants to play and Kenny wants him to show people what he's all about.  Here's hoping it all works out Saturday.

Needs to improve though. I think we can all agree on that, his first touch has looked woefull and his play laboured.
I take it on board that he`s only just retained fitness and so I`m hoping for a marked improvement.
Prove my doubts wrong andy lad, starting with a goal today!

He looked lost when he came on. Woefully short of match fitness which is a worry because how long does it take a young strong lad to get fit?

His touch was awful and he struggled to get involved at all, mind you we hardly put any decent crosses into him and suddenly started playing a lot of short corners !

Lots of work for him to do

Indeed, for how much we paid I think we should be concerned.
Surely he should be fit by now?

Did he cost more than Aguero?  :(

No doubt Carroll needs to do more but in fairness we should have told Newcastle to ram it when they hiked the price up to £25m let alone going another £10m on top. Despite public defences there must surely be moments where Fenway and the management look back at those deadline day negotiatians and feel a bit sick inside. I am made up that the owners back the manager but I get the feeling that the club really dropped a bollock on this deal as the lad will never justify that fee and its our own fault for paying it.

I said after Judas left that we should do all we can to sign Aguero... Next thing I know we signed Andy...
