Kenny, damien, john and tom - A brilliant transfer window

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I salute you.

What a brilliant transfer window.

So much dross shipped out and replaced by up and coming young talent. Our squad and our first 11 look so much stronger.

Agreed, brilliant work getting rid of so many players surplus to requirements.
All the one's generally not needed are gone, slightly dissapointed we lost Meireles AND Aquilani, would have preferred to have kept one of them but fantastic stuff by everyone at the club.

Brilliant business all round I think. Comolli and Kenny have done superbly and have been well backed by the owners.

We have a stronger squad, much better balanced and with a set of players who want to be there.

Team spirit will improve with a smaller, closer knit first team squad which has IMO a great balance between British and continental players.

Like most I'm slightly surprised at Meireles, but we recouped 12 mil for a squad player. I'm just a bit annoyed that Chelsea are developing a habit of bidding for our players. From their point of view though it was clearly a panic buy with the Essien injury and missing out on Modric. We will finish above them this year anyway.

Blimey, looking at it like this, yep, looks like much of the deadwood has been stripped out, and replaced.with quality. Must admit though, a couple of those released, I haven't heard of like Gerard Bruna and Dean Bouzanis. Oh well

Well done to the King Kenny, Comoli and the Owners. Bring on the next Transfer Window.

I started this window saying that we needed a new CB, a new LB and width in the midfield. Anything else would be a bonus. I'm very disappointed that Meireles left, especially right at the end, and especially with Aquillani already gone. But when you look at that line up of who came in, who went out, and the first team changes, then if you'd offered that to me at the beginning of the window, yep, I would've taken that.

The last hour of the transfer window is disappointing, but when you look at the big picture? Boo-ya! :)

Kudos to Damien, Kenny and FSG.

It sums it up that there isnt a single player in the squad now whereby if they had to play a number of games in a row you'd groan with dread as a fan as you would have in the past. You could argue that the weakest player we have now is possibly Spearing and even he was excellent in the second half of last season and is a local lad who'll always give everything for the cause.

No doubt we'll find a new scapegoat soon enough thoug. It's already been Henderson, Carroll and to a lesser extent Adam. My money is it moving back to Kuyt soon. :D

If the sale of Torres to them is anything to go by, we have no worries at all :D

Brilliant signings, I think from here on in now that we have a proper squad we will be looking for the best of the best in terms of new signings.  January, if we maintain a steady title challenge should be very very exciting. :)

Great window, Comolli/FSG/Kenny all have a strategy and a long term plan and this is just the beginning! Just wait until we get CL place  :nod

Hah, agreed. I doubt Raul will get on too well there either. We keep selling 'em turds for a fortune and they keep buying.
