Suarez was the only decent thing out there tonight. Anyway, its only the League Cup so :censored: it. Expecting a tough game Saturday evening.

Retards like this are the reason am getting turned off LFC forums lately. Everybody and their granny suddenly knows what players are worth, incl folks who cannot tell the difference between a bean and a jellybean!

Its a 2-way street with Caroll. The team members, coaches and caroll himself are trying to figure how best to play to his strengths...

Folks who cannot understand this should save us the trouble of reading their :censored:!

as i said before...Carroll will score at least 15 and assist with as many goals in the league this season...FACT

He is different and is a great edition to the team and squad. If we learn how to use him we will get the best out of him. Newcastle did and he was scoring every second game.

Yeah, it's incredible really. I mean if some of these so called fans were managers, can you imagine it? Carroll walks off the pitch, a goal in the bag, a smile on his face and the manager says

"Andy, you were sh*t. Go take a bath and wash the stink of your game off or i'm selling ya for £5m"

That aint gonna build confidence.

And in the dressing room after the game

"Look lads, 3-1 win...not good enough. 4th in the league, ya kidding me?"

That wont build confidence either.

I blame the Football Manager and Champ Manager series. Used to do it myself though..stupid things...making my goalkeeper take the pentalities so I could have the next Jose Chilavert.

Ya know? Dumb stuff that simply is NOT football. Like b*tching about a great start to a new season, seeing it as a bad thing. And to think a year ago we were losing 1-0 to League Two Northampton Town. Ahhhh...those were the days.

(and yeah, sarcasms the lowest form of wit)

well personally i'm willing to give the lad more than 3 games to judge him, especially when for long spells so far the service to him has been woeful. you could see him getting frustrated last night with other players in the side who kept just knocking chipped balls up to him. they see him as an easy way out.

he does have some work to do though.

Im not judging him, which is why I said 'jurys still out'
I am not judging him...yet
But he needs to change his attitude first and foremost and stop sulking and shouting at his team mates
When hes sticking chances in left right and centre and they fu'ck up then he has the right to kick off. Until then keep your head down, keep it shut and do your job

Goal or no goal, I still have reservations about our style of play when Carroll is out there playing alone or alongside Suarez... Theres definitely work to be done by both

Carroll:  making better runs, his positioning and awareness, working on playing the ball faster (loses possession a lot in dangerous positions), and improving his first touch when under pressure

and Kenny: Getting other players to know when to play to Carroll (too often we play it to him too deep in the middle of the park or too early in the buildup phase when he clearly isnt the best at maintaining possession or creating chances on the ground) and generally revising our system to get players like Downing, Adam, Enrique and Kuyt putting in more dangerous crosses when we have sustained possession in the opposition final third.

For me, he has what it takes to be a very good player for the side.. Hasnt shown it yet imo regardless of all the 'what else do you want from him' stuff...  Early days and all that and as long as we are winning I guess theres no real reason to change a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 yet, but I still expect more from Carroll and hopefully as things start to fall into place his performances (and goal scoring) improve for the side..

One more thing. I'm sure many will be wondering why Andy Carroll seemingly gets a break while criticism of Henderson carries on... Imo, despite not performing that well for us, Carroll has shown (even if only in glimpses) that he has what it takes to make a positive impact in our starting 11 and improve the side overall if we manage to find a setup that gets the best out of both him and Suarez.
Henderson on the other hand imo has shown little of anything. Add to that the fact that we have established and much better players on the bench (Kuyt and Meireles to name 2, I'd even go as far as saying Maxi and Spearing too depending on the roles) and it seems odd that we are persisting with him in the starting lineup... Does he improve the side ? not for me.

I mostly agree with this. Certainly Carroll has work to do, as do the staff and playing staff. As we've said, Carroll isn't the finished product, far, far from it. But his potential is huge. The fact that even playing badly (though I don't think he's played badly at all...average, maybe) and still been productive is very encouraging. At 22 there's so much time and space for development and hey, he has Kenny Dalgish to work with  :D

Imagine Andy Carroll in a few years time when he's absorbed some of Kennys style? That is precisely why I support Carrol, Kenny and everything the team is doing at the moment 100%.

Personally..so far, i'm LOVEING this season.
