The fee, after it's been paid is irrelevant. It was a done deal that we would keep 15 million of whatever we got from the Torres sale and Newcastle would get the rest. Done and dusted.
Torres left us on the last day of the transfer window with us having to overpay. Simple. It's water under the bridge at this point.
I don't think Carroll being in the side will hinder Suarez in any way. I think the opposite actually. I think Carroll will attract defenders and allow Suarez to find open areas of the final third to get the ball and do his magic.
As far as longballs being hoofed to him, that's not his fault, blame the defense or even the coaching for that.
