I'd do the same , if he could actually run.![]()
Seriously, he's gotta lot of things going for him but pace isn't one of them. Also if we're gonna feed high balls to him outside of the six yard box, we've got to get players in and around him otherwise his best attributes will be wasted as he nods down the ball for the oppo to sweep up.

I'm not going to count his Mar to May performance because he was lacking match fitness. Now in his first full season, let's see whether he can be a consistent scorer or not like the ones we've had in the past or is he the Steve Archibald type who only became prolific after a few seasons at Spurs in the 80s or (hopefully not) he was our biggest blunder signing.

If we had paid £10m for Carroll then I wouldnt be worried and he would have plenty of time to develop but at £35m, well then I reckon he should be doing a bit more. I am fully aware the cost is almost irrelevant in terms of how he trains and plays but without question the extrodnary price changes the picture completely.

Cristiano Ronaldo £80m
Kaka £56m
Fernando Torres £50m
Zinedine Zidane £45.62m
Zlatan Ibrahimovic £39.76m
Luis Figo £37m
To suggest we didnt overpay for him ir that his wages compensate for his transfer fee.. etc is nonsense imo
He's young and has great potential and all that, but given the fee he needs to vastly improve the side and he needs to do it soon.. If he doesnt, it wont be his fault, it will be the management's fault. His signing could go one of two ways, it could transform us into a much better side or it could go down as one of the worst deals in the history of the club...
A little too early to decide on that but my main concern is that his fee might dictate the way the management decides on formations and styles of play..etc Effectively, that would mean the likes of Aquilani, Suarez, Meireles..etc are not needed or not fully utilized given the fact that their style of play isnt very compatible with Carroll's...
Atm, the best case scenario would be us playing our normal style of play and focusing on our best players and seeing where/if he fits in the side.. Dont see it happening though, and I expect it to use him as the focal point of most of our attacks with long balls played to his head more often than not.. I also expect our main players including Suarez and Meireles to find it harder to get into the side or into games given their modified roles in the side to accommodate Carroll and his style of football
