expectations?

18 League titles and 5 European cups, but my hope for LFC are always pretty much the same each year. But I'll leave it to this man....

"1st is 1st.......2nd is Nowhere"  - Bill Shankly.

I'll give you all a clue...there is a big statue of him standing outside the Kop. I will go with his word, because his word in football is the "Bible" to me!

(PS.... i dunno who Mr. Shanks was, I'm so dumb you see, with my silly posts, can anyone enlighten me??)

I mean really, are we just going to sit by, whilst the Mancs get title 20, 21 and 22 etc? and do nothing!?

It's a scandal.

Maybe before you putting stunning little internet taunts  to try garner some attention on a internet forum you should actually think about it

Point being made Mr Mensa man, you consider our signings are unknowns as you also consider Reina and Alonso were unknowns.

I end the post here  and let you work out the rest

well he walked into that didn't he?  :D

Please make one more signing in a quality CB before predicting where we'll be in May 2012. Other than our defence, I think we have a formidable squad and probably the best if Stevie G can come back fully fit.

After seeing the weekend's results, There's no reason we can't get top 4.  Spurs and Man City left to play but there looks to be even more parity in the league this year.  It's looking wide open :buttrock

The big teams will drop points, no doubt about that but we need to also learn to put teams away, especially at home.

Man U, City, Chelsea are looking strong, we are not too bad either. But I still feel the top 3 places are 'Reserved' for those 3 teams. The battle for us is for 4th place. If we get 4th, I'll be pleased but then this shows how much Liverpool have declined in the past 20 years. During our heydays of the 70s, 80s. to be satisfied with 4th was unthinkable. Let us all get behind the team and Kenny. YNWA.

If we get this Coates lkad, you have to say that Kenny has bought wisely this window and certainly has the ammunition to get 4th.

ManUre/Chelsea for top spot, Citech probably third then LFC fourth with Arsenal and Spurs biting our ankles.

I still think it will be between the manchester clubs, and at this point I'd say city take it.

I'm confident we can get 4th, but watching chelski's first two games, they don't look that great.  We may even be able to nip the 3rd spot from them.

I'm upgrading my choice of 5th to 4th now. Even 3rd is not out of the question if we keep playing the same way.

Arsenal our main competition are in shambles right now. I can't see them bouncing back before January with the squad issues they have right now.

Things will be clearer after the transfer window closes.  I'd be shocked if Arsenal doesn't strengthen by Wednesday (but for that matter I'd be shocked if we don't either  :eyebrow ).  I chose 3rd way back when and nothing I've seen would say we will be either side of that, still early though.

Ecstatic to see us played brilliant attacking football vs Bolton and that we didn't run out of steam in the 2nd half. We can definitely qualify for CL if our key players can stay out of injuries and play consistently like we did against Bolton. However, after watching Man U thrashing Arsenal 8-2, and City thrashing Spurs 5-1, I think we are not at their level yet this season. If we had played Arsenal at home or Spurs away instead of Bolton, I don't think we would have got those scorelines. So I think top 2 are reserved for them and the best we can reach is topple Chelsea for 3rd.

3rd is definitely achievable looking at how we've started. chelsea won't pull up any trees imo and neither will spurs or arsenal. united and city are looking very good and will battle it out for the title imo.
