I also believe City will take the title this season if they don't implode like they did at times last season.  I don't think Aguero is better than Tevez, but he's excited to play and show his worth while Tevez is about as moody as a b!tchy pregnant spoiled brat, so in the end they will probably be a bit better, plus the fact they have been gelling together for the last couple seasons.

So as I see it, it's gonna be:

1st- Man City

2nd and 3rd- Chelsea/manure/Liverpool

4th and 5th- Liverpool/Arsenal

6th- Spurs

Keep in mind that Aguero will make about 130,000 more per week in wages.

True, but had we offered him a deal prior to Man City's interest, we may well have got him on similar terms to Torres.

Fair point, but I'm under the assumption that we aren't looking too attractive to foreign players without Champions League football at the moment.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

It is better not to have too high expectations for the next season esp when Gerrard and Suarez are not playing together. By the look of things, we'll struggle to even maintain our 6th position and I still feel Kenny should not have returned to for the sake of his legendary status. Now he is risking it as it is plain to see.

We're still not playing as a team, if last night's game is any gauge of things to come. Especially our defence. Yes, it is pre-season. But then again, teams like MU and MC are winning all their friendly games. So fitness, blah blah blah is not an excuse. While pre-season results don't mean any points, I feel it does make a difference in momentum going forward to new season. The way we are going, I expect us to get off to a bad start like last year (hopefully not as bad), then improve as Kenny gets the team to gel together later on. Only consolation is Arsenal seem to be having problems of their own in pre-season too. So hopefully that'll keep them close to us initial part of season.

I expect MU, MC and Chelsea to make a flying start and take a significant lead over everyone else. To me, we would be scrapping for 6th-9th early part of season. Before finishing strongly to challenge for 4th-6th (like last season).

One thing also: if Downing was signed to give us width, then why did he keep coming inside last night? All the hype about his crosses being ideal fodder for Caroll... last night I don't think Caroll got one decent attempt at goal from any of Downing's crosses

Actually, what's plain to see is that you're working very hard to turn preseason into some massive indicator of the side's quality and Kenny's leadership and using the poor results as an excuse to go off the deep end.  Sixth out of reach, will be lucky not to be relegated, Kenny gone by October.  It's embarrassing stuff, fella.  :O

Not to mention the one in the second half that the keeper made a really good save on (and Shelvey couldn't tuck the rebound away).  Great ball to the back stick from Downing, right onto Carroll's bonce, and a good powerful header -- the keeper just came up with the goods.

Signings we have made aren't good enough. Simple as.

The gap between us and the top 4 will only become bigger and bigger if Arsenal sign Mata.

Expect another season of mediocrity, unless we bring in quality and as I have said in posts BRING IT IN NOW not next year or 5 seasons from now.

No, if Arsenal sign Mata to replace Fabregas then it means they didn't improve.

Well thanks for giving the new signings a chance. Glad to see that you know better than the management of lfc when it comes to judging a player. ???

Oh and Arsenal won't sign Mata. And even if they do it doesn't really bother me. He's not what Arsenal need.

Mata and Gervinho for Fabregas is a big improvement in my opinion...

I sill believe the singing we made are decent enough and/or with potential.

The problem is that we prioritized totally wrong spending alot on players we didn't really need and then we had no money left for improving in positions we desperatly need.

I mean no real dependable LB...?
Options: prospects and an accidentwaiting to happen.

And not any need cb...?
We have to back a long time(before Hyppia and Henchoz) to have so poor CB's.
Options:
Carra: is no longer near good enough as he showed time and again last season.
Skrtel: was he ever good enough...
Agger: Accident wating to happen
Kyr: As the label says 4th choice

Just plain awful :(
But hey, we have 10 cms where we will now be forced to flog half of the for peanuts. Great management  ???
