4th, my reasoning is the same as everyone elses!

I think Chelsea's the biggest unknown ATM.  New manager (that's not new from them) - and a squad that is very settled, BUT old.  And Essien looks crocked for a while.  I think they'll get off to a good start and then fade.  It will be us and the two manchester clubs to battle for it.

How anyone can say anything other than 4th as a minimum, especially considering the last two seasons finishes!

Whoever voted 2nd as a minimum expectation is deluded.

Do you know what im just gonna wait an see how Aguero pans out at City .

Don't get me wrong both the title, 2nd or 3rd I'll be over the moon but my minimum expectation is 4th. And I would guess at Arsenal being the team to drop out of the top 4.

Not going along with everyone else on this one, 5th.

Let's not forget we, out of all the top clubs still have the most unsettled squad. Gerrard looks like he is going to be an injury concern the whole season. Our defence is a joke. We are still dealing with the consequences of former management disasters. We have 6-8 players that are completley useless & eating up wages & don't want to leave on lower wages. Andy Carroll looks like a waste of 35 million.

The only realistic way for us to get back into the top 4 this season is for Arsenal to have a really bad run.

If I am wrong(And I hope I am) I'll eat my words

4th for me as well.

We have a good team and now a good squad. throw in a manager that every fan wanted at the club and it should all spell qualification for CL football. We spent a few quid recently and I think there will still be a left back and centre back coming in before the transfer window closes.

If you asked Kenny the same question I'm sure he would answer that the minimum this year for the league is 4th, anything else is just a bonus

It's a little unrealistic to post a "Minimum" expectation as a football fan. What you going to do if LFC don't realize your minimum expectation ? Go elsewhere ? No, I don't think so..........

Football clubs are not like Supermarkets which fight for our allegiance and money, we are stuck with LFC (unless your under 8 years of age when your football fickleness is high). No, unlike players we are in it for the long term (Life term really) so the question we should be asking is how chuffed (or disappointed) will you be if we finish higher or lower than what is expected.

LFC can fall off the end of the Pools coupon and it wouldn't change a thing for me, I'd stil be supporting them.

Supporting LFC is a life long love affair not an office fling  :D

i disagree.

As a liverpool fan i 'expect' us to be the best in the land every week....will that happen? will it feck.

However, this season is a new one for us becaue it has a lot of major factors bearing down on us. New cash, new owners, new manager. When was the last time we were in this situation?

My point being....where do the LFC fans hope for us to finish next may?

I went for 5th. We haven´t got the squad we need, the attack is still weak as is the defence. We´re still carrying far too many deadweights who are stopping us buying the kwality we need.   5-6th, but I reckon Kenny and Steve Clark are already looking towards the season after to make a real push.

i went for 5th.  we cant just expect to finish 4th cos we finally signed a player or two.
Still a few players short of a strong squad.

Hoping for a top four finish, expecting top six.

As others have said we're still short of a bit of quality in some key area's .

I think we're going to struggle more than people realise next season for a number of reasons...

1)  Gerrard, Reina, Lucas and Suarez havent kicked a ball in pre season so far with less than 2 weeks to go before the season starts.
2)  The new players are going to take time to gel and settle at the club.
3)  We can't get rid of our deadwood which appears to be seriously affecting us in the transfer market.

I think the season might be similar to 2005, were we showed moments of greatness but were largely inconsistent.  Due to the reasons above, I predict a slowish start and an uphill battle early on.

But we'll still walk the league :D

Top four finish and I think aa title challenge isnt that unrealistic if things go our way.
If you look at  the last couple of seasons where big clubs have dropped points in most unexpected of places then I cant see why we cant dream of the grail heading back where it rightfully belongs.

Minimum? I'd realistically say 4th.

However, in reality I expect as a minimum that the players sweat blood for the shirt game after game and give a 110% EVERY GAME, and that they play a nice bit of footie too.

If they do this I'll be happy even if we finish 5th but really if the play like that ^^ come every game I can't see no reason why we they won't finish higher.

Roll on
Champions of England 2020.
