Oh dear....

Chill out mate, out of that team who is actually likely to even be in the 1st team? Kelly and Carroll, that's it.

I'm not gonna get my knickers in a twist because a mixture of ressies and fringe players were beaten.

Me neither. Looking at Kenny's comments after the game before this one, he has more or less told a few players to prove themself, and they havent. The dross we have, especially after tonight I think has decided it for Kenny. He wont say as much but no doubt his mind is made up as to should go and who should stay.

Im expecting the next few transfer stories associated with Liverpool to be about players leaving the club.

What we can gauge from preseason games is that if we had all bet that every opposition would score 3 goals against us then we'd together have enough money to buy Kenny a new CB and LB.

The preseason tells me that Kenny is giving the non-first team players too much time.

4 games 12 goals shipped.

The youth players who will stand a chance this season to play are having the morale slapped out of them by these dire performances.

Don't give a toss if people think preseason games means :censored: all. Losing 2 games on the trott 3-0 is :censored: in anybodys book and needs to be looked at.

The first 11 isn't getting much of a run out, the 2nd and 3rd 11 are Shiite. The quality youth that we do have are being demoralised by having to play with the likes of poulsen, degen and cole.

Some of the comments over in the match thread are an absolute joke. Hardly any of what I'd consider our first choice match day squad played yesterday. What were people seriously expecting? The results we've had in the past couple of games have no bearing on our league campaign whatsoever.

Obviously not great results for morale, but not going too panic just yet.
This isnt our starting 11 . . . If it was & we lost 3 nil then yeah sure id be worried.
Lets see how we look once we have our full squad playing  :nod

I really don't care too much about our friendlies, but I find it hard to understand Kenny at the moment. For me, friendlies are for the new players, to get to know each other and to blend in well before the season starts. It's up to the manager to see how they all play together and to be ready for the new season, to know what kind of tactic to use, what line-up etc. Trow in a few promising youngsters with that team and that's about it. We are doing nothing of the sort. We're playing a squad of our deadwood mixed with our youngsters. And what do we get? Poor results, what else could we get. I don't see the point in that. Are we playing them (the deadwood) to raise their price? Well, not with this kind of performance we won't. The only thing we're doing at the moment is embarrassing ourselves and nothing else. I really couldn't care less for the results but IMO friendlies are meant for something else, not this.

Maybe hes giving them a chance to see if they take it?
If they dont then he can honestly say they had the opportunity but werent good enough?
We have now seen first hand those who havent really had the chance to show what theyre made of before. Poulsen is a prime example and I would hope that KK has now seen enough to say goodbye to him. N'gog and Shelvey are two more. Kellys been sh'ite and Cole has been pretty average. The rest have been mediocre and only Aquilani has impressed.

I think that most of them had enough chances really. The only ones who I think that deserved a chance were Aquilani, who is a great player, had a great season and never really got a proper chance with us. The others are Joe Cole, only because of his skill that he once had, and maybe Insua, because we currently need a left back, and who knows, maybe he has improved on his loan where he never played. But what about the likes of Poulsen? I think that enough was said when he lost his place last season in favor of Jay focking Spearing.

But, you might be right, they're people after all and it's not that easy to make the decision to get rid of them, everyone deserves a chance. But apart from Aquilani, they all blew it and what I think is that we should move on, forget about the old deadwood and concentrate on the new team, let them play in the remaining friendlies that we have, get them to know each other and gel in before the new season starts.

Agreed.

I was appauled to see some people claim we could be relegated next year and Kenny should resign etc.

havent read the match thread at all but cant see what the point of was a meaningless game at a place where the flight time and travel is not exactly short and easy  ???
We might as well have played Tranmere at prenton park.

I am not going to criticise too much but i am confused by all of this.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The fans! Going over to Istanbul to see that! Why couldn't we have played Tranmere on the Wirral? Or gone out as a Liverpool XI like the scumbags have done? At least they're not disillusioning the fans.

Kenny knows what he's doing. Having fielded an under strength squad last night, it gave those the chance to shine (e.g. Degen who failed miserably), some for competitive experience (Cody, Wisdom, Ayala) others to appear attractive prior to the transfer window closure (e.g. Degen, Cole and/or Aqualini), and for some to improve their fitness levels (e.g. the whole XI).

The rest left behind at Melwood having been pointless boarding to Turkey affecting their preperations of travelling to and from Turkey, back home and then straight to Norway. Expect KK to field a stronger squad of players by gelling the new signings together into the starting XI and will avoid the 11 man substitution at half time.
