Doni set for Liverpool medical
Goalkeeper on the verge of completing move to Anfield

Doni: Failed to agree personal terms with Liverpool earlier in the summer

Sky Sports sources understand Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni will undergo a medical at Liverpool on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old's agent said last week that a deal was imminent following several weeks of negotiations.

An initial move broke down earlier in the summer after Doni failed to agree personal terms with Liverpool.

But the Brazilian could complete his move to Anfield this week after an agreement was reached with Roma.

Doni would only provide back-up to Kenny Dalglish's first choice, Jose Reina, but would offer an experienced deputy.

Liverpool on Sunday departed for a pre-season tour of the Far East, but members of the medical staff will still be available to oversee Doni's medical.

Why do we need a 31 year old keeper? I cant see the logic when we've already wasted a bunch of money on that american fella.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Either that or he thought Jones was an American.

Maybe he meant Australian?
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Speaking of Jones, what will happen to him now?

Anyway, I don't support this signing, would rather give one of the youngsters a go if Pepe is unavailable.

Don't know WTF this is all about, except for a sinking feeling that Reina has told the powers that be that he's determined to leave ? ? ?

Jones, thats the fella, he's a yank.

Pepe's not going Woof, Doni Osmond is just a bench warmer.
