Players like Xavi , Fabregas , Alonso , Iniesta , Gerrard have amazing control of the ball - are you saying Adam has the same ability ?

No doubt he is good with the ball but amazing is a little bit ott don't you think - if someone was "amazing" control off the ball then they wouldn't be waiting till they were 25 until they moved to a big club and they would be massive bids and people fighting over him .

Temper your expectations a little - he is a decent prem player who shone for 6 months in a small club - I watched him playing for Scotland against ROI in that tournament they had a while back and he was nothing like you suggested - his selection of pass and control was poor - his lack of mobility in a two man centre midfield was exposed by the two ROI guys . I would say let's see if he can make the step up before going overboard as he has already had a time at a fairly big club and it didn't work out .

Well said. Using words like "amazinging" and "deadly combination" really shouldnt be allowed. Peole should calm down and analyse what they say in a scientific and proper way before they make such statements.
To be honest I was getting a bit excited myself there GYBS
Thanks for helping me "temper my expectations"

Well aside from benny sticking to his routine of being ready to set himself on fire, I think one thing needs to be pointed out.  This whole Adam is not a winger thing was brought up because Ethan classified him incorrectly after posting his lineup.  He calls Adam a winger (which I agree he is not) but has him slotted in a Left midfield role, of which I agree with and think he will do very well for us there.

If Adam is not in the starting XI it's not a big deal either, he provides options of which we did not have prior to his arrival.  On the Adam topic there is only one question that needs to be asked, Does he make the squad better or deeper?  IMO, Yes, he does.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

By that logic, you would also think that G.Barry, Djouro, D.Bentley, M.Etherington..etc etc would make good signings because they improve the squad in terms of quality OR quantity...  ???

Well maybe I rate Adam better than the lot of you.

I never said he was as good as Xavi or Xabi or any of those you listed, but those aren't the only players with amazing control of the ball.  When you watch Adam play for 2 horrible teams (Blackpool and Scotland) there's a lot of pressure and expectation from him because he's obviously at another level.  Sure it took him until he was 24 to really shine, but some are late bloomers who need that bit of confidence to really show what they can do.  I never said we should play Adam as a winger, I was saying he should play there over what we've got.

Now that he's at a good team where he will have time, space and talented players to pass to, I expect a lot from him.  He was always able to step up against the strong sides and prove his worth and now that he's at a club that he knows has high expectations, I really think he's capable of becoming a really great player.  He won't be in his prime for another couple seasons as well, so he should be getting better.  I know he won't be able to get all the goals he did last year as he won't be taking pens and won't have to do so much alone, but I still expect good things from him.

If that's the way you interpret my post to suit your argument, so be it, but I think you know that wasn't what I was saying.

btw just curious, how many of u guys who are making judgement here actually watch Adam played?
how many actually watch a full game in which he was part of to be making judgement calls?
i give tat most of us watch 2 full games in which he played. LFC vs blackpool (H & A). i missed both.

if its coming from a blackpool fan i will sit up n take note,
but until he put on our shirt, most of us cant make a accurate call on him.

I watched Adam play a few times last year
He is a good player bordering on very good. He has skill, passion and is not afraid to get stuck in. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will become a fans favourite if he tries his best.
He will be a great addition to LFC and I wish him well

Eh? Most of us probably watch 3 or 4 football matches a week during the season, I imagine I've watched Adam a dozen times, he's class, thats why we bought him.

Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing

I don't think it should really matter what a player has or hasn't achieved before they play for Liverpool.
If you at Xabi Alonso, he was 23 and not exactly a household name in world football when he signed but at Liverpool he developed into a world class player and his value tripled.
Same can be said for Reina and Mascherano and even players like Hypia.  Even Torres to an extent went from being a very good player to one of the worlds greatest strikers.

Point is, these players all improved so much at Liverpool and if we see a player with potential, we should sign them and hope they turn into brilliant players instead of focusing on how they did with other clubs.

Not necessarily... If you study them more carefully you will notice that Adam has a long torso with short limbs whereas Gerrard has a short torso with long limbs...

That's the same effect where girls appear taller than guys who are only slightly taller than them...
