How we can win the premiership next season

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

usually have us saying.IF ONLY! In 2009 we lost only 2 games. And to shi.te teams. If we can cut out this we have a chance. Last season we had a very good record against those above us. Except spurs. So the bottom line is. If we beat the bottom 10 home and away next season which means twice over the BITTERS. We will win the prem. Top 4 a certainly

We usually don't have much of a problem gearing up for the bigger matches but it's against the smaller teams that we tend to drop points against. Before we even thinking about winning the league we need to sure up our defense and get some creativity going forward. It's all well and good getting hyped up but the truth is, next season for us to finish in the top 4 will be as tight as it's ever been in recent times. We need to not only overhaul Spurs, but Arsenal and City.

As i've said before, im not going to speculate on where we will finish until I see the squad in full after the summer. It's looking up though.

Agreed.  LFC is a passionate club, so our players and fans get very pumped up for the big games.  The away games when we drop silly points are what kills us.

Hopefully have depth in the squad can help solve this problem.

I concur with many of you that they are not going to predict where we will finish until we've seen the full squad just before the new season begins. IMHO we need 7 quality signings injected into the team. The team last season was an average team. The left and right back department I believe we have enough there in Kelly, Johnson, Flanagan and Robinson to choose from.

We need two central defenders of the Alan Hansen calibre because Carragher is ageing, Agger too injury prone. In midfield we have a quality signing in Henderson but we need 2 more playmakers because Stevie G is not getting younger and injury prone.

Left and right wingers of the John Barnes standard is a must, need I say more?

We need one more backup striker in case anyone of Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt are in a long term injury.

Last season, I noticed even after KD took over, in many games our players seemed afraid to get the ball and the opposition got almost all the 50-50 balls. No team can win the PL or even finish in top 4 with this kind of play.

We need a squad full of players who are attacking minded and hungry for success, something that has been sorely lacking in LFC for a long ......... long time.

That is just silly, if the sports is dead then why do people all over the world watch it? just because your used to the old school type football doesn't mean the sport of football has gone. Football has evolved and its business side has evolved. However, the passion of the game is still there, you have over millions of fans worldwide who are very passionate about football and follow team closely.

yeah, same here, but are you really as passionate as you used to be? Players on 200k a week, transfers of 20 million for nothing players, backhanders, dodgy deals, FIFA, its all too much.

The passion has gone. I still care, of course, but inside I sometimes think, whats the point, Citeh will spend another 200 million and we talk more now about owners than the actual football, as the money side is more important.

How do we win next season? Try to buy the league like everyone else, as theres no other way in todays climate.

b*llox daws, football is evolving, inflation happens, players will be sold for more money that's not because the sport has ''lost'' it, it is because the sport is evolving.

Has Man City won the league yet? judging from your post it says that they already did ??? City will spend millions, so will Mancs, Liverpool, Chelsea and to an extent Arsenal, so basically how is that buying the league? Chelsea and Man City have outspend the Mancs in the past 3 years, but who came on top? the Mancs, did they win it because they ''bought'' the league by spending more than 100m on players in one season? NO

Even in the 70s and 80s football has encountered some dodgy deals here and there.

Money talks at every level of the game and always has and so to think you can win this league on a shoestring is pure fantasy. Liverpool need to learn how to win when they are having an off day and thats the first thing. At the moment we put in a bad one and we lose the match and that simply has to change if we are going to move forward. You also need a bit of luck and key men to stay injury free. The trick is to have a pool and a system that gives you a solution for every eventuality so you can pick up wins when the match is a problem. Until we can square that we will always struggle with inconsistency.
