Ive been playing SWAT 4 a lot lately. An oldy but by god this game is good. Has anyone else played this?

I watched my lad play it a while ago online. He wedged a door shut and stood there while they all tried to figure out why they couldnt enter. Eventually they shot the door down and my lad shot all 6 of the crew trying to enter ! He was then booted from the game for cheating !

King for kids, maybe.

But as long as this bad boy is around, it'll always be second best.

Scary thing about that footage is that it's pre-alpha development code, and it looks mind-blowing. No scripted explosion :censored:. All fully real-time. Nothing is touching that. Not even close.

It doesn't matter who the dev is behind the Modern Warfare series now. With that engine, it's practically DOA as far as I'm concerned. I want to be playing something that feels like it belongs in 2011 instead of something that came out in 2003.

While I do agree graphics add a lot to a game, I far from believe that it is a decider in what games I'll play.  Diablo 2, still play it sparingly, graphics are :censored: :D

In a FPS, visuals can be important for the immersion. Doom 3 wouldn't be as scary if lighting and shadowing weren't as good as it was for example. It just depends on the context of the game. With a military FPS, I think massive open battles are a must, and the engine needs to be capable of huge draw distances. Having a game of a sanbox nature like Battlefield that looks the way it does now shows just how much more advanced it is over anything else that's out there. Battlefield 3's looks aren't just for show. Everything is dynamic and can change dramatically. It's that technical side of the game that's impressive, not just by how it looks. I mean, look at the destruction in that video clip, and that's just from small arms, and some tank rounds, so imagine what  a jet could do. You aren't safe, even if you're inside a 7 story building. I hope DICE release the specs for the game soon. I want to start building that PC.

Looks good that. I hope OnliVE hurry up and get this game added so I can play on my mac. I've so far resisted going down the bootcamp route.

Watched the full 12 minute game play of "Fault line" for BF3, it looks absolutely stunning.  The introduction of this CoD elite (making someone pay while they already pay $60 a year for the very multiplayer experience you charge them for) is enough to make me switch without even thinking of turning back.  Halo had half of those stats on their website for free, bunch of :censored:heads, no I would not like to spend an extra $30 for a game.

CoD Elite

I think separating the market is silly, if their claim is actually true and nothing is taken away from the free game then great, however I see this just as a move to tap into a small market and get some extra cash.  Hopefully this doesnt catch on because if it catches enough fire it may one day become the norm
