i was reading through the thread opener and following what the chelsea fans were saying and at one point I thought to myself... Liverpool will never pull this back.

wtf? I then gave my head a shake and realised this was 6 years ago and we did pull it back.

This probally wont down to well, before i start.

Firstly it was the best night of my life and im all for being aware of and proud of your clubs history. But i find it so boring dragging up events that happened half a decade ago and beyond and have been retold hundreds of times over.

I clicked on the Offical today interested to see if wed signed or where close to signing anyone who would improve the present squad. Hear from people in the know about what was being done to further strenghing the squad and club as a whole. And its all "Istanbul the greatest moment of my career" interviews.

My first thought was for :censored:

sakes we gonna have this for a week now players saying the same old "i thought it was over at half time, then the first went in" stuff.

Its a fair point mate, and one levelled at us for years; that we live off past glories.

However.. the timing of this is good. We are on the hunt for players and this will stand us in good stead considering we are not in Europe next year.

People say we live in the past? well if we didn't have a past we would,nt have a HISTORY. Ask cheatski. And as for living in the past why oh why is it when the mange reach a European cup final,do ITV roll out the 1968 final?

Possibly one of the best nights I have ever had as a Liverpool supporter. Although Houillier won us the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Cup, Super Cup and the charity shield, although Graeme Souness led us back from 3-0 down against Man United and won us the FA Cup in our centenary year, although growing up with people like Kenny Dalglish, Jan Molby, John Barnes, Ronnie Whelan, Ray Houghton, John Aldridge, Peter Beardsley and the like winning title after title. Despite attending my first match with my step dad watching Rob Jones make his debut, this night was possibly the most memorable. I dedicated my entire night to the TV to watch the lads play, I never touched my computer that night. I remember going up to my missus who was in bed watching TV ( I kicked her out of the room, LFC first then kids, then whatever ! Those are the rules !) I kneeled at the side of the bed with my head implanted in the mattress and told her "we are getting thrashed !". To this day she reminds me what she said, "Its Liverpool, its not over yet".

By midnight I had passed out on beer, whiskey and delarium !

An awesome night I could never forget even if I tried.

My mate at work is a Spurs fan, and he was ribbing me constantly over the result at Anfield the other week.

I showed him the video of Istanbul. And asked how many moments like that Spurs have had.. and then showed him a few more!

He shut up.
