why were we signing 30 year olds

we were chasing Luke Young as well weren't me, imagine if Roy pulled that one off as well
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing

over 80 caps for Denmark, played in top leagues such as Italy and Spain with top teams such as Juventus, his experience would be vital to teams struggling in the relegation zone. reckon Blackburn should make a move for him in the summer.

Poulsen is worse as he LOST us games, FM merely failed to win us games. Was a bad signing!

You're missing the point, I'm saying both were top players in their respective clubs and country and both failed while playing for Liverpool

Poulsen was never a topm player anywhere, he was a decent player at Sevilla and Schalke, but for JUventus and Liverpool was abysmal. Morientes had proven top quality before joining us and at least contributed something while he was at liverpool, poulsen has done nothing.

He was quality for Sevilla, part of the side that defended and won the UEFA cup and the Spanish cup. He was also Denmark's best player back then. Even with Schalke he was excellent. I wouldn't go he was one of the top midfielders (he wasn't) but he was a quality one. Positionally, tactically, tackling and strength are his strength.
