Summer transfer targets.... - Who?

I would take Modric in a heart beat, he has been Tottenham's best player this season.

I don't think he will come though, if we need a Modric sort of player we should go for Adam or Javier Pastore (very expensive)

or try to convince Real Madrid to sell Ozil :lookaround

Must admit I was thinking that last night too about Long.
Useful back up striker.

I also quite like Cardiff's right winger, Burke and Bothroyd.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the premier league next season, maybe not the marquee signings we are after though.

We have been linked with Shane Long before. Worth a punt at £3m-£5m

Our biggest needs as i see it are:

Centre-half (need to spend £15 mill +)
Winger (need to spend £15 mill +)
Centre-Mid ( £8-10 mill range)
Left Back (£5-6 mill)

I like Gary Cahill, he's young and fits the NSEG blueprint. I still like Hangeland and he would be cheaper but I don't think the owners will be looking at 27-28 years olds.

I see we're being linked to Eden Hazzard again today and i'd be delighted to see him come ahead of Ashley Young. Although Young is a good player who i'm sure would do well also.

Elsewhere, I like Charlie Adam and would be happy to see him in a red shirt assuming Blackpool don't think they can hold out for more than £10 mill for the lad. Spurs will be all over Scott Parker but the mancs might go in for Adam unfortunately.

That would leave left-back where it makes sense to spend some money on a decent European player but i don't have a clue who. Young Robinson looks a prospect and I expect him to see a fair bit of playing time out there but it might be a bit early to be relying on the lad.

Elswhere I really think the Academy can provide the depth that will enable Kenny/Commoli to spend bigger on their main targets. I think Sterling will be a first team squad player next season and I wonder if young Adam Morgan could find himself getting a few games upfront in the latter half of the season.

I'd take him for the mere fact that he can actually take a decent corner :D

Yeah i know what ya mean although Mereilles put some decent ones in once a manager finally came in with the balls to say "Steven, your not much good at corners but your bloody good in the air"!

Adam is one of the best in the league when it comes to set-pieces. Also love his range of passing and the fact he likes a shot. He'd be a good signing and with Gerrard, Mereilles, Lucas and Spearing it would mean we've got a bit of everything in our midfield.

I'd be very happy if we could get Hangeland, at 27 he's still got a good 5 years in him and he's a very solid defender plus good with his head, which we've missed since Sami left, although Kyrg is good at that, only problem with Kyrg is he's a woeful defender.

I'm almost certain we'll get Charlie Adam though.

Your not alone mate, i've been banging on about Hangeland for 18 months now! and a few others like him as well. He'd deffo be a good fit for us because I think the owners are more likely to go for a Simon Kjaer or a Cahill if they can afford it.

Forgot about Jose Enrique? That transfer is a done deal mate.

I hope Newcastle are still interested in Konchesky so we can get rid of him and bring in Enrique for less money. 6-7 mill plus Konchesky sounds nice, would be a great bargain :)

That kind of player would never come to Liverpool IMO. Heard that him going to Real Madrid is an almost done deal. Plus, after this season and last he'll cost a fortune! There's no room for that kind of players anyway, since we have Suarez and Carroll now.

agree with everything you say about what we require except i would say we need to two wingers one for each wing, have to be genuwine wide men who can cross and get some supply to Carrol, who is gonna be redundant without that kind of service. Centre back is a huge priorty as Carra is old, Agger injury prone and the other two are just awful. Left back we are also badly in need of another player, as Aurelio is injury prone and the rest are too young.

that will be enough this window i reckon:D .
shane long is a decent player who has improved and is well worth a punt for that money.he's a hungry player and has youth on his side plus he's miles better than ngog.
