I don't actually believe that there will be a set amount that FSG will just give out.  I think it will be more like how they operate in Boston.  If the right players are available than they will be willing to pay top dollar for them.

There have been seasons where they have done very little in Boston, because the right sort of player that suited a need was not available.  There have also been off seasons where they break the bank and pay ridiculous amounts for the players they want and more importantly, they need.

The bottom line, if the right players are available, money is no object.  If the right players are not available, they won't spend money just to spend money.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I've said it before, I'll say it 15 more times... I've wanted Mata for years.  If our only signing over 10mil was Mata, honestly I'd be happy.  Hoping for Baines, Cahill, Mata, Young and maybe one more big signing.  That would just send me over the moon.. But realistically if we got 2 of those players then we would have to be really happy with our summer, especially now that it seems Reina is here to stay.  Johnson works at LB, or Robinson or Flanno.  We are completely covered at RB now.  If Agger could stay fit, plus Carra and Skrtel and Kelly, we actually have a set defense.  I'm not saying it's great, but it would be good enough to get us into CL if our attack was improved.  We sign Mata and Young and our attack is the most feared in the prem, bar none.  We get Cahill and Baines, Both who score a decent amount for defenders and Baines who got over 10 assists this season... We will have way more goals than anybody in the league, no doubt about that.

first you say you're happy with 1 signing (Mata).
next you hope for 5 players, which will send you over the moon.
finally you say you'll be really happy with just 2.
you're like a girl shopping for handbags :D

But see how I rated me levels of happiness? 1 signing and I'm happy, 2 signings and I'm really happy and 5 and I'm over the moon  :D

going to have to be realistic, no European football at all. Don't think we can go toe to toe with a few teams in the league with regards to transfers. They said we'll be making 'smart' signings well let's hope they bloody well are
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing

Spurs are huge competitors when it comes to signings and we may have well just given them a few signings today.

I thnk we're safe domestic wise. Signed one of the big up and coming premier league strikers and managed to get Suarez. Anyone in this country can see the progress we've made under Kenny.

Its the European singings I worry about but I think we need premier league experience in our side anyway so the majority of signings we might not have many problems, just depends who we want from across the continent

After the Spurs game, IMHO, players like Lucas, Spearing, Flanagan, Maxi, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Agger, Konchesky especially are not going to win us the PL. They are either plainly not good enough, too injury prone or too young (Flanagan). They at best, can only get Liverpool to progress into top 4 but to have these players to win the PL even with Kenny in charge is asking for the sky.

Stevie G, I think age and years of wear and tear have caught up with him. We need world class signings in the summer especially in the midfield, wing and central defence department to stand any chance of finishing in the top 4 next season. I don't think we're ready to talk about winning the PL yet. I'm now more interested in how to strengthen the team and make it to top 4 next season.

I'd take N'zogbia in a heartbeat if Wigan went down. He'd transform our left hand side. I'd still take Charlie Adam and I'd also take Scott Parker.

Agreed. Our performances under Kenny (notably against the Mancs, Chelsea and Fulham will speak volumes).

And we already managed to get Suarez, one of the stars of the world cup so im sure we will get more. Besides, no Europa league means being able to seriously mount a challange for 4th or better.

How old is Scott Parker? Unless we got him for less than 5mill, I dont think we would be in for him, purely because FSG have already stated they want to buy young up and coming players.

I'm still not convinced about Charlie Adam, he looks good in a poor Blackpool side, but hie fitness is a real concern.  However he has scored a fair few goals this year and has done well with assists so I'm not saying I wouldnt want him at all, but I think, again, the price has to be sensible.

I jys wish the rumour about Alonso coming back was true... I would break the bank to have him back

There was one doing the rounds last week, but to be fair there didnt look like there was too much substance to it.

Although he did come out and say he was going to bring his son up as a Liverpool Supporter? ???   :bowdown

Glad to hear last night on MOTD2 Lawrenson say he reckons Reina is staying, I wouldn't want us to be looking for a first-choice keeper as well.

I think Modric would fit into a Kenny Dalglish team really well but dont think Spurs would want to let him go
