THE OFFICIAL KENNY DALGLISH THREAD - Return of the King

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I honestly believe that FSG will offer Kenny the job in the summer. The question is only how long is the contract. Reason? Just think, all those players that Kenny wants to work with next season Spearing, Kuyt, Lucas have been offered and have recently penned down their contract extension. It will be insane for FSG to suddenly send Kenny back to playing his golf and brings in a new guy with a team full of players who are needed by the previous manager. It just doesn't make sense.

Yup, looks like Man U have overtaken us in terms of championship titles with a record of 19 titles. But records will always be broken like our 18 titles have now broken. The world is not ending this year and with new owners willing to invest heavily (I hope) and Kenny in charge, we stand a good chance of taking our 19th title quite soon.

The fact is they have been going for twenty years means they are at the end of this reign. You cannot dominate football forever and there is an element of eb and flow (well there was for us). They may win one or two more, but they cannot last forever (well purple nose certainly cannot) and at some point the debt, the fact they have been replacing 70 million players with 5 million players, the fact that their manager cannot live forever (thank God) and the fact their real stars are getting too old to play means the end is near (for a while at least).

Winning the prem has placated the fans this year, maybe that is a good thing as they seem to be financially in trouble.

Ive thought the end is near for Utd many times yet somehow they are still gonna win number 19 and possibly a champions league...

I do think the end is getting near though and i hope their downfall will be much worse than ours.  Would like to see them as a mid table side for years to come :D

I am personally not arsed they have taken the record.
We have had our time and held it for years. Will they? I Fu*king doubt it!
One thing that is crystal clear for me is the difference between us and them. OK they will win it based on the fact they have more points than anyone else but one fact remains, they have won it through cheating. The way they play, and especially the things ferguson does through the season mean that they win through unfair advantage.
We have always done things with class. We have class. We ooze class. Them cu'nts have none and for people to bow down to that classless tw@t proves that he has bamboozled, intimidated and frightened people into submission. There is no way whatsoever that Shankly, Paisley, Fagan or KK would carry on like that pr'ick and this season he has virtually dragged them to the top through his behaviour. The media, the fa and other managers kow tow to him constantly and he gets away with absolute murder and is given preferential treatment time after time.
Well fu'ck him and fu'ck MUFC because they will never have the respect, good will and admiration that we have. And with KK and the new owners running the show their "record" will be short lived.

Anyone else still delighted like a child on Xmas morning that we have King Kenny as manager?
As a young enough man (24), the club finally feels like all the stories I heard coming from others.
The Liverpool way seems to be coming back and I love how the team is trying to play, how kenny speaks and deals with the media and how Kenny has made me feel like we're the greatest club in the world.

I really feel positive that next season we can have a real go at the PL.

the word 'team' is the best word to sum Kenny up. Eveyone is playing for each other. Players were covering for each other tonight, it was as if they all knew where each other were without looking. The ethos he has instilled around the team amazing. It doesn't matter who scores, winning is what its about. Noone is bigger than another. We win together, we lose together

Everyone wants to play as well, Meireles must be wondering what the hells went on. He signed for one of the most miserable Liverpool sides in recent memory and now plays for a much happier one. Great first season experience for him :D
