No sorry I don't, all I see is a broadcaster of the size of BBC relaying some information to thousands of listeners. I just assumed a corporation as big as the BBC probably knows a bit more than say talksport or rawk. it might of been Alan green that said it but he was convinced talks had started and it'd be within the next few days.

I hear we are 2nd in the league from the day Kenny took over as manager... thats a bloody fantastic achievement considering we were 12th before that.

Its frustrating that the games we've lost were against the likes of Blackpool, west ham and west brom!  Otherwise we may well have finished 4th.  Was always gonna be tough for Kenny though, we pretty much needed a 100% record to get top 4.

Im not sure any other manager could have turned it around so well.

My heart hopes and pray that Kenny will be offered a long term contract due to his past glories here as player and manager. But my head tells me that he may not be the long term solution to Liverpool's problems with winning our 19th title and later on a consistent basis. Reason is, his past records as manager shows that he's not the sort who can stay in a job for more than 6 years. He left us abruptly after 5 and 1/2 seasons while we were still top of the league, he left Blackburn soon after winning the PL with them after spending 4 yrs with them and his last 2 managerial posts before joining us didn't last long either.

I have no doubt he is capable of helping us win our 19th title given time but can he stay for more than 6 seasons with us? He didn't when he was a young manager, but now at 60 and just came out of retirement, can he stay longer than he did in his first stint?

There have been much talks about getting Boas of Porto to take over. Now that fella is awesome and Boas is the only guy I would agree to take over Kenny should Kenny not be given the contract. Whether we decide to continue with Kenny or get Boas, I believe we're rolling the dice here hoping for a desirable outcome. If we stay with Kenny, can he stay with us for long? If we appoint Boas, will he end up as another Rafa? Rafa won the Spanish league 2 times with Valencia, a good manager who at best could only come close to winning the PL. No one can be certain to the answers to those questions, only after we've lived through it then we'll know.

He could stay with us til he thinks he can't manage anymore. Sod his other jobs. Liverpool fc is in that mans heart
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

which present manager stays more than 6 yrs at a club and is a winner?
unless u want us to appoint sir fergie, then no one fits ur criteria?

if Hillsborough disaster did not happened i believe KK will not quit and we will have dominate the league for 40 yrs and counting.

how many of us stays in our job for more than 6 yrs?
what is long term commitment? hell, even marriage nowadays are not offen long term commitment.
What KK can do now is to build a foundation for the future, bring back the disciple, traditions and the long lost "liverpool way". after him it is anyone's guess.

Bill Shankly is considered the most important manager in lfc history not becoz he won lots of titles.
we did not win 18 titles or 5 big ears under him, but he was immortalized by club, city and fans becoz
he brought us from bottom to the top.
from the ashes rises a phoenix.
he layed the first brick of greatness and set a foundation for the club to build on.
the managers after him? the rest is history.
that what i hope KK can achieve.
we may not win 19 or 20 with him but hopeful after he leave,
he can leave us with a platform to reach greater heights.

I agree with you mate on Shankly building the foundation for Liverpool's greatness in later years. And now we hope KK will be the next Shankly. I'm sure he can be, but football has changed since the Shankly days. Nowadays, in football, it is Champions league football and the subsequent cash payout is what's important to club owners and players.

I don't think clubs today have the time for nurturing the foundation for later yrs to blossom because if they don't qualify for CL football all the star names will leave for greener pastures to play CL. So clubs with the cash will appoint whom they believe is next hot manager to lead them to glory and that could be at the expense of the club's traditions.

For example if Boas is to take over, he'll be introducing his own style and methods into management and possibly throwing all those Liverpool way out of the window because they may not suit his style. We'll most likely see a lot of Portugese players and Portugese staff at LFC all of a sudden. And then, the Liverpool Way could go the way of the extinct Dodos.

I agree with what your saying about a new foreign manager coming in and wanting to instill their own beliefs and principles not only on the team but the whole club.
We have tried that with the last 2 managers and had some success so its not a daft idea.
But in the end we did still end up coming yp short and that was at times playing football in a different way to what we have come to believe Liverpool should be playing.
We now have Kenny back and he is bringing back the whole Liverpool philosephy upon the whole club.
Right down from getting acadamy lads training with the first team and travelling the match with the squad.
Every press conference he has makes me feel more and more that we are getting back to being the club that i was proud and privileged to support and be a part of.
I dont think there is any other man or manager that could have that same effect.
Kenny has revitalised the club and brought everyone together, and not to forget had us climb the table as well.
It would be madness to bring anyone else in for me.
Give him the keys to the club and back him all of the way and lets see if he can get us back to where we belong.

Has to be Kenny in charge next season.  If its not and we lose our first 3 games next season... club would go back to being in turmoil and fans chanting for Kenny.
