I just assumed a corporation as big as the BBC probably knows a bit more than say talksport or rawk. it might of been Alan green that said it but he was convinced talks had started and it'd be within the next few days.

But my head tells me that he may not be the long term solution to Liverpool's problems with winning our 19th title and later on a consistent basis. Reason is, his past records as manager shows that he's not the sort who can stay in a job for more than 6 years. He left us abruptly after 5 and 1/2 seasons while we were still top of the league, he left Blackburn soon after winning the PL with them after spending 4 yrs with them and his last 2 managerial posts before joining us didn't last long either.
I have no doubt he is capable of helping us win our 19th title given time but can he stay for more than 6 seasons with us? He didn't when he was a young manager, but now at 60 and just came out of retirement, can he stay longer than he did in his first stint?
There have been much talks about getting Boas of Porto to take over. Now that fella is awesome and Boas is the only guy I would agree to take over Kenny should Kenny not be given the contract. Whether we decide to continue with Kenny or get Boas, I believe we're rolling the dice here hoping for a desirable outcome. If we stay with Kenny, can he stay with us for long? If we appoint Boas, will he end up as another Rafa? Rafa won the Spanish league 2 times with Valencia, a good manager who at best could only come close to winning the PL. No one can be certain to the answers to those questions, only after we've lived through it then we'll know.

we did not win 18 titles or 5 big ears under him, but he was immortalized by club, city and fans becoz
he brought us from bottom to the top.
from the ashes rises a phoenix.
he layed the first brick of greatness and set a foundation for the club to build on.
the managers after him? the rest is history.
that what i hope KK can achieve.
we may not win 19 or 20 with him but hopeful after he leave,
he can leave us with a platform to reach greater heights.

And now we hope KK will be the next Shankly. I'm sure he can be, but football has changed since the Shankly days. Nowadays, in football, it is Champions league football and the subsequent cash payout is what's important to club owners and players.
I don't think clubs today have the time for nurturing the foundation for later yrs to blossom because if they don't qualify for CL football all the star names will leave for greener pastures to play CL. So clubs with the cash will appoint whom they believe is next hot manager to lead them to glory and that could be at the expense of the club's traditions.
For example if Boas is to take over, he'll be introducing his own style and methods into management and possibly throwing all those Liverpool way out of the window because they may not suit his style. We'll most likely see a lot of Portugese players and Portugese staff at LFC all of a sudden. And then, the Liverpool Way could go the way of the extinct Dodos.
