Its simply my opinion.
Like i said Rafa did alot of good in reshaping the Acadamy and for bringing in the top coaches he did.
I still feel though that if he was manager here and now we would have had senior players played out of position rather than Flanagan starting 3 matches in a row and Robinson being thrust on away at the emirates.
He was definitely too cautious for me in that respect as the point i made about Spearing being overlooked when we actually had no other central midfielders.
People will point out that players were given their debuts under Rafa, the likes of Spearing Kelly and even Robinson. But for me they were never really trusted enough while we give chance after chance to underperforming senior squad players.
I agree with that. But you also have to consider that when Rafa was manager, we were expected to be challenging for the title as well as qualifying for the latter stages of the CL, so there was a lot of pressure and maybe it wasnt suited for the young players.
we're expected to challenge on all fronts all the time due to the nature of our club, irregardless who the manager is. for the past few seasons, it seemed the challenge was to qualify for 4th spot.

Since January this year, our only priority has being to get some pride back... which has been greatly achieved but we didn't have much to lose.
The main thing to mention though, is that while H+G were raping the club...there were people here like Rafa, kenny, Ian Ayres etc that were working hard to ensure the long term survival of the club. We should be thankful that we're starting to reap the rewards of all their work.
Couldnt disagree with that.
We wouldnt know if Rafa's approach would be different if he was manager at this moment in time (with not much to play for)
I can only offer my opinion.
That is that i think the mediocre squad players would play before the promising youth players.

agreed.
there is no way in hell that Robinson, Spearing, Kelly and Flanagan will start in the league if rafa was the boss.
most prob they will be sold off and more young foreign players will be imported to replace them.
KK took huge risks by playing the kids and the kids repaid his faith.

Yet some did start when Rafa was the boss
Players like Flanagan and Robinson and Spearing are only playing because there is no other true option .

At last the truth. This has nothing to do with Kenny-Rafa.

ah right so carra couldnt have played right back with the greek in the middle ?
There are probably other options that Rafa would have found.
Robinson played as a token gesture in the last game of the season.
Spearing was given his debut but then was totally bombed even in times when there was no other options.
It happened.
