LUCAS LEIVA - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby PabloMedina28 » Wed Apr 13, 2011 4:34 pm

Lucas Leiva has made more tackles in the Barclays Premier League than any other player this season.

Eight challenges against Manchester City took the Brazilian's total to 139 for the 2010-11 campaign, according to Opta stats.

That's an average of a tackle every 16.7 minutes.

Lucas has played 41 games for Liverpool this term - more than any other player except Martin Skrtel (43) and Pepe Reina (44).

Last month the club rewarded his fine form with a new long-term contract

How many won?

you can tackle as much as you like in the game, but what matters most is how many of those tackles he won (tackle success)

Another good performance against City ...seems like the dissenters will have to endure him sticking around for some considerable time ...
Thank fuck Kenny knows a quality holding midfielder when he sees one ,and some of the beauts on here have even less say on who we sign  than Standard Chartered  :D

cue a debate of what qualifies as a tackle to ensue in order to read the statistics in a variety of ways :D

Who do we have else than Lucas as a holding midfielder RB?

Good player, but time will tell if he will be the first one on the team sheet when we go for a title challenge
