Could be a load of $hit but and that why its in the rumour thread. A guy on a different forum was at at a dinner with Phil Thompson and this is what he came back with. Make of it what you will and dont shoot the messenger.

1. Souness is a w**ker of a man - super player, :censored:

man manager and a w**ker in real life
2. Nobody in the Liverpool/England setups liked Emlyn Hughes (RIP), was a complete loner in both camps and Tommy Smith loathed him
3. Steve Nicoll was a massive fan of massages and "extras"
4. He had nothing to do with signing Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou (sure Phil).
5. Jay Spearing isn't good enough for Everton
6. Kenny Dalgleish needs to be offered a 5 year deal, anything less sends the wrong message
7. Ashley Young (£24m) and Jose Enrique (£undisclosed) are done deals
8. Houllier should not have came back when he did (after heart op) and was his call to change Hamann for Smicer and blow the game v Leverkusen in 2002.
9. Rafa got rid of Owen because all he done was score goals (honest to god - and he says Rick Parry told him!). Rafa wanted a more complete forward unit and a poacher wasn't good enough.
10. Liverpool fans were shocking in how they treated Owen when he returned with Newcastle - he deserves it now.
11. Reina was very close to going Arsenal and he's unsure if he'll be around next season.
12. He covets Downing and Cahill
13. Reckons Carragher has one more year in him
14. If Gary Neville gets a job in sky he is going to protest - said he needs a personality bypass (think he meant implant)
15. His nose is massive in real life. I mean cartoon big.
16. New Anfield won't happen - he "heard" they will stage develop existing Anfield via complusory purchase orders of surrounding houses.
17. Dani Pacheo is washed up and was "ruined" by Rafa

20. Souness ripped the soul out of the club when he started by moving from "the boot room" to Melwood(?) set the club back

27. Charlie Adam is as good as Xabi Alonso
28. Wayne Rooney deserved a bigger ban (swear im not trolling!! lol) - said that cursing was uncalled for and premeditated and that it was completley the wrong example for kids... might I add Thommo's language was foul throughout the day

that egotistical swine shouldn't be talking so much. he made a mountain of a molehill of Fowler's shot onto goal which almost hit him. on hindsight, i wish it did hit him and broke his nose. he was instrumental in Fowler's departure.

I've always liked Thommo. Problem is all players are individuals so they all can't be expected to have the same views. I generally take these things with a pinch of salt.

Its a load of sh*te. The stuff about Emelyn Hughes was in Tommy Smiths autobiography and Rafa sold Owen because he wouldnt sign a new deal end of story. Im also pretty sure Charlie Nicholas is Thommos best mate on the Soccer Saturday panel. I know they travel to London together to do the show. How could he possibly know Reina nearly went to Arsenal? Total balls

Not for £24m for Ashley Young it's not. Was hoping we'd get him for little les, for like 14-15 mill

Adam cant be compared to alonso, xabi was the heartbeat of his team, Adam is the brain, I watched him again against arsenal today and he really is a top drawer player.
