I think the direct opposite.  I think Suarez doing well is easing the burden on Carroll.

Well actually I think Suarez could not make Carroll look any worse right now. Suarez has amazing energy, movement, skill on the ball, vision & sheer determination to succeed. So far Carroll has run around a bit tried to head the ball without much success, although he is back from injury so I cut him some slack. But I expect Carroll to improve quickly as long as the service to him is relatively ok.

With him in the side, we have a better chance of scoring from set pieces.
He is already improving the quality of our 1st team.
All he needs now is that 1st goal.

The reason we paid so much then was because we needed a striker before the window closed and because, don't the fair play rules kick in this summer? So instead of having a 25 million pound deficit to cover for a striker this summer, we don't have to make up for that money and it cost us 10 million pounds more.

People have to remember that he isn't Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres or anyone like that.  He plays a rugged style and is an aerial specialist, don't expect him to run at defenders constantly and realize that he is still a huge threat for us even without doing all those things.  He is under performing right now, is unfit but STILL managed to only be stopped by scoring from a goal line clearance.. he's there specifically to add a threat to us from FKs and corners, something that we have consistently lacked for years.

I think you underestimate his ability on the ball if I'm honest. Yes he's a monster in the air but he's also a very good footballer when he wants to be.

As you say he's nowhere near 100% fit but there were several encouraging signs on Sunday, particularly in the second half.

He actually has looked decent with the ball on the ground.  In the air he hasn't been as good, but the service hasn't been that great considering the wings are filled by Downing and Young.  Great strike tho.

So Capello has had a 'private'  (yet discusses in with journalists ??? ) word about Carrols alchohol intake and then supplements this with "He's not the same Carroll I remember, he needs games. I hope he'll be back to his best for Switzerland in June." yes, he's been out injured for nearly 3 months. I imagine Kenny is fumin, imagine people thinkin we spunked £35mil on an alky.

Ashley Young would compliment Carroll, would be excellent if we signed him in the summer.

Thats why we love Kenny and thats why he's the man to take this club forward!  Crapello hits out at Carroll and pulls him to bits so Kenny is straight back in and defending his player. Well in Kenny lad, tell that crapello to get his neck fuk'd. Keep it out Crapello you turd!

in turn Andy learns where his breads buttered, great stuff from kenny. I'm sure if there were any problems Kenny would deal with them behind closed doors anyway. I thought the comments from Capello were a joke quite frankly and issues like this shouldn't be handed to the media
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

More great stuff from Kenny here

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has laughed off claims Andy Carroll needs to control his drinking habits and says the player knows how to handle himself.

England boss Fabio Capello publicly warned Carroll, who scored his first goal for the Three Lions in the draw with Ghana, to cut down on his drinking.

Dalglish has brushed off the advice from Capello and defended the January signing from Newcastle for the way he has conducted himself since arriving at Anfield.

"Well he's never bought me a drink," said Dalglish. "I've been with him at Boyzone concerts and he's still never bought me a drink!
Required

"Andy Carroll knows what is required of Andy Carroll, and he's done fantastically well getting back to where he has, with his application and dedication.

"Whatever Andy has done, he has done it very well, and somebody else's opinion is up to them. But he cannot be criticised in any way, shape or form for what he has done since he has been here.

"He's done really well to get where he is, so I think Andy is focused on his football."

I cannot praise Kenny's handling of the media enough, even the respect he showed to Roy Hodgson was top drawer. I can imagine the dressing room to be proper buzzing, who wouldn't want to be at Liverpool right now
