we need wingers to compliment him.
a proper rm and lm is what we need in the summer, someone who will take a lad on lift the head and pick him out.

but that was the problem, the players around him forgot he has feet.

I remember in his last few matches here under Kenny's tutelage he was getting more like the player he once was since Kenny was a striker, I'm sure he knew how to get the best out of a striker. Unfortunately he's gone.
Time will tell whether Carrol will be a prolific scorer like Rushie, Fowler or another not so prolific average striker like Crouchie. But I can definitely say he's overrated at 35 million.
As someone told me just after we signed him - Carroll is the equivalent purchase of going into a small corner shop 1 minute before closing and paying £20-00 for a Pot Noodle because you were starvinggood analogy.
Thats pretty much how i saw it... rushed last ditch purchase with the huge wad of cash we recieved. Recall seeing the SSN yellow ticker around 1pm on the last day of the window "newcastle reject Liverpool offer".. and thinking thank christ.
Having said that.. i immediately like what i see in both ties vs Braga. His touch looks solid.. and thats massive. To be able to trap the ball, hold it up...lay it off...with his size, physique, aerial ability.. we have a major player on our hands. And Suarez is the perfect foil to play off him.
You also have to factor in what a diabolical central midfield he had behind him against Braga..he was fed nothing. And he is a forward who needs service.
Quality midfield signings in the summer, decent service to Carroll.. then we will finally see what we have bought.

Will improve as he gains match fitness tho.
