You can't go on forever claiming you are a big club with no european football. it might work a little while but after a few midtable finishes I might pretty sure we will take a hit reputation wise.
And then I am a form believer our owners will spend very little money from their own pockets and instead from players sales and what the club makes.
And we have very few saleable assets left and with a stadium that is getting close to ancient and only domestic football it will be nigh impossible to compete in the transfer market.
This "only concentrate on the league"is romantic thinking at best...

so even if he has 200 million to spend, who's gonna come to a club without european football 2011/12 ??

It is the players that wins trophies for the club first and foremonst and you can bet your **** that if most players would have a choice playing for a team playing in europe or not they would go to a team that plays in Europe.
No, sorry, they will not go on like supporters thinking that since the club being nowhere right now but won things 30 years ago is a better proposition right now.
You need top class players to compete for honours and some here honestly expect that we can attract the very best in the world with just the PL to go for?
That is delusional thinking at best...

the exposure you get from the europa league is nothing in comparison to the audiences the pl gets.
the money is a absolute joke as had we made the quarter finals we would have got a whopping £360k!! id say we pay spearing more than that.
the owners have to invest from their own pockets and not writing it off on our own assets as if they were to do this they would be no better than the previous regime.if they pay the wages they will get the players.
not qualifying for this joke of a competition in its current format is not the end of the world and a season were we arent in europe wont harm the club either.failure to ship out the muck players that are not good enough to play for us will.
