LIVERPOOL VS BRAGA - 2nd leg 17th Mar 2011 20:05 ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby jacdaniel » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:46 pm

Our lack of goals or even attacking play in Europe is worrying to say the least.  Braga were a terrible side and we should spank them at Anfield.  But realistically we'll need to score 3 to be comfortable now.

Im not sure whether its motivation or what but the players just didnt look all that interested last night.  We didn't press them at all or play with any kind of tempo.

It wasn't long ago when we were beating the likes of Barca at the New Camp or Inter at the San Siro.  At the moment we cant even get a goal against pretty ordinary sides.

We won't win this competition if we don't improve our performances away from home and start scoring some vital away goals.  Eventually we'll meet a half decent side that will nick a goal at Anfield and we're :censored:.

I'd go for this:

                                   Reina

          Carragher      Skrtel      Agger        Johnson

                            Lucas      Mereiles

          Kuyt                   Cole                  Maxi

                                   Carroll

However it wouldn't suprise me if Poulsen/Spearing played alongside Lucas with Meriles behind Carroll and Cole on the left instead of Maxi.

Whetever the case it's gonna be nervy especially if we concede one. I'm going for a nervy 2-0.

I think Kenny will start Spearing in this one and Poulsen will be on bench, just a hunch

It is unfortunate that many key players are either injured or ineligible. Kenny has really arrived at a time with big challenges in his hands. So the games vs Braga and Sunderland on Sunday we won't be playing with a first choice team and I really don't see us getting good results from there. I expect we'll be kicked out by Braga and lucky to get an away draw at Sunderland.

Haha you are the guy that everyone says isn't a Liverpool fan?  Ya must be you... I'm pretty sure you have said we will lose every game so far...

Anyway, if we play well and if Carroll starts, I could see him causing some major problems.  He caused problems last time and got elbowed in the face for it, so maybe they will get an early red card  :D

I could see Carroll getting his first goal for us if we get him enough balls in.  I'm expecting Johnson and Agger to play and they can help develop things from the back.  Hopefully Johnson can get some good crosses in for Carroll.

2-0 Kuyt and Carroll.

I hope Carroll doesnt lose his head and set the guys house on fire or anything :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Do you think we could get away with playing Suarez in a Ngog shirt?

I'd say it's worth a try... Give him an Obama mask and he'd probably look spot on.  :D
