Another quake in the same region of Japan. 7.4, Tsunami surge expected to be 2m.
Now to the bit I quoted, I am in no way trying to minimize the damage, but those pictures of the before and after can be a bit misleading. Part of what makes them so dramatic is How lush and green everything looks because the original pics were taken in the summer. The After photo's were obviously taken in late winter, hell, the tsunami hit area had like 6 inches of snow a couple of days after.
Think of what it's like flying over an area in the winter time, everything on the ground looks so dreary, but come late spring everything looks beautiful.
