We're a big club who are more than capable of running a domestic and european campign side by side.
As much as I long for the glory days to come back on the field, I miss intelligent posts just as much.

Yeah I heard something similar. It was regarding Fulham's end of year accounts, they lost money (or cost them) due to hosting more games.
Seems amazing to me, considering the price of London club ticket prices.

If we finish 6th or 7th and dont qualify then I wont be shedding a tear. Next season we can concentrate on the league and getting back into the top 4 and the domestic cups. Add to the that the hunger the club and fans will have to get back into the CL during the season.

If we have depth, then these competitions are ok because we get to try players to don't normally start. Like others have said as well, it'd be good if we gave some of the youth a go, not worrying about qualifying or not, but getting them some games would be great and we could see who's ready for some first team action.

Agree with this 100%.
Statements like "We are Liverpool" doesnt change the fact that we're short of quality squad players that will allow us to compete in the latter stages of Europe whilst also maintaining a push for the top 4. Hopefully it will be addressed in the summer.
I always want us to be in Europe ideally but to think that we have some kind of divine right regardless of the restraints it may put on the progression of the club in the long term is ridiculous.
On the players wanting CL or Europe in general, I largely agree with that although it's not always the case. For example Charlie Adam could have gone to Spurs but wanted to come here because he can see what we're attempting to build. We're still a bigger club than Spurs and we can still attract decent players such as Carroll and Suarez regardless, even if they were considered overpriced.
ethanr wrote:This is very true. People know who Liverpool are. That doesn't mean anybody will come if we aren't qualifying for these types of things. People know who fecking Leeds are but you don't see many top players jumping at the chance to play for them.
If we qualify for Europa, then players coming in will see an opportunity to play Euro football and it will be great for them.
