and i think this further highlights the lack of talent in this team. without gerrard, suarez, carroll, and reina, we're nothing to shout about.

if we all woke up tomorrow and found out that john henry sold the whole team save those 4 and lucas, carra, raul and agger, i wouldnt be bothered at all.

All very exciting when Carroll came on, but in truth we were rubbish.

Very disappointed to see us start with Poulsen, when a young hungry and surely no worse player like Pacheco is on the bench. I don't mind playing away with two holding/DM at times, but when one of them is Poulsen I fail to see the point. He has had enough chances. Would have much rather seen Lucas and Spearing in the middle to make room for Maxi or Pacheco.

Still, Braga weren't all that much better, so heres hoping Soto doesn't gift them another goal next week.

I'm getting sick of these lacklustre displays in Europe.

I dont reckon Braga look much but they did do Arsenal 2-0 there and Celtic 3-0 so you have to respect that. We just went there to keep it tight and try and nick it by introducing Carroll but we gave away a daft pen and its gifted Braga a slender advantage. These Portugese are difficult on home soil, every trick in the book and every player a con man, its a nightmare to contend with the antics but they wont be able to impose that at Anfield. Big crowd back at Liverpool and good atmosphere and we will go through, im confident of that.

Positives: Carroll, a 1 goal deficit to overcome and the final whistle.

I didn't think Cole was that bad TBH, at least he tried. He had no support other than Johnson all game. Playing 2 holding midfielders makes us far too defensive and stiff. Once Carroll came on it freed up Kuyt and Cole.

Either way it was a typical away day performance again. You won't see a good away performance unless we are in the semis or something and the cup suddenly becomes important.

Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Andy Carroll will wear the No.29 shirt if he makes his European debut for Liverpool in tonight's clash with SC Braga.

The club's record signing cannot use his regular No.9 jersey as Fernando Torres has already donned the top for the Reds in the Europa League this season.

Carroll will continue to sport his regular shirt for Barclays Premier League matches but will wear the No.29 for however long Liverpool remain in Europe.

I just read this, how :censored: childish are uefa ???

Missed the match because of work.  Sounds like we played pretty bad tho.  Although it sounds like Carroll had a decent game.  Anybody think he'll start the home fixture?

Frustrating and disappointing although 1-0 away from home sets it up nicely for next week
Johnson is without doubt a talented player but such a sh'ithouse
Miereles played his worst game in a Liverpool shirt
Cole was running in circles
Lucas was back to normal
Spearing is out of his depth
Poulsen should never play for us again
Positives:
Kuyt tried hard
Carroll caused trouble
