CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - Sun 6-2-2011 ko 16:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

i couldn't resist a sneaky peak at one of the chelsea forums. they're obviously not a happy bunch of bunnies over there, slagging off pretty much the whole team and ancelotti as well. many of them are wondering whether torres is actually any good now they've seen him in a blue shirt and have judged him pretty much the worst player on the pitch. its small minded, i know, but it makes the win even nicer.

on paper.....

Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Essien, LAmpard etc etc.

And us? Gerrard.

what does it tell you about what confidence and belief can do?

I honestly think he's going to struggle to win them over and as a result he won't settle. With us he was on a pedastal and could be forgiven for bad displays because of what he'd already done for us and what he was capable of. Is this the Torres Sabre warned us about?

i'm wondering if it is, you know. i'm thinking that maybe those two amazing seasons we got out of him were because, by luck, accident or design, benitez came up with a system (and maybe the only system) that got the maximum out of him. i guess we'll see pretty soon.

I was going to go as far and suggest those two seasons may have been fluke  :D

time will tell I guess - even for Spain he was never prolific even when he was for us.

Hopefully he fails

Lucas has took a lot of stick , (mainly in a thread started by me two years ago :D ) but the lad has grown into the job, he's been one of our most consistent/reliable performers this season, hats off to the fella, he's finally looking like one of our " unsung" heroes.

Kelly , given his age and experience looks like a diamond in the rough. Putting in performance after performance. If we stick with this lad he could possibly go on to be a legend, early days I know to be lauding the the lad but I'm just so impressed with is contribition, he's not the finished article but it doesn't matter who the opposition is he just keeps getting better and better, showed f'uck all respect/fear to the "names" in the Chelsea team today. Walk on lad   :buttrock

If Lucas cuts out the stupid, needless fouls in dangerous positions around our box he'll be in my eyes a top defensive midfielder, he does everything else well, its just those little petculant things that drive me nuts from time to time. He had a great game today, as did just about everyone but I thought he, Carra, Dirk and Martin Kelly really stood out
