So happy to have an English player up front. Hope he can live up to the price tag, the pressure will be massive - glad Suarez will be there to pick up the slack. :buttrock

Exciting times, who would think that by the end of January we would have 2! quality young forwards. My expectations for the end of the season just got a lot higher!

Carroll & Suarez, it could be the partnership to take liverpool back into the top 4!

The fee is a worry, I just hope he handles it..

However I wanted this guy. Big powerful centre forward with a heart as big as a bucket and the skill to match. This guy is going to be huge for us. Just Huge.

Stevie will be rubbing his hands with glee at the thought of this guy running into the box to get on the end of his passes.

Liverpool were smart on their purchase of Carroll. Carroll doesn't demand high wages like many players. Torres is getting 170k per week. Carroll was getting 27 per week, so even if we double his salary, we are saving 50k per year from the 100 Torres was making. that's 2.5 million pounds per year saved. if he stays for 4 years, we save 10 million pounds so that's like paying 25 million pounds for him. Plus, if he stays the prominent striker he is, his resale value could be close to what we sold Torres for.
