Look at it this way, at least we HAVE the money available to pay that kind of money, and thats a nice feeling to have.

Well, while it is nice i would have preferred if we filled more holes in the team as there are a lot of holes to fill.

Neither the defense or wingers are anywhere near good enough and once again it is not like the owners have spent a single penny.

They just took the money for Torres and gave most of it immediately to Newcastle without investing a single penny themselves.

For once I'd like our owners to actually invest some of it's own money instead of using that which we make from player sales.

No matter how you slice and dice it that hasn't happened in this window.

they bought Suarez to play WITH TORRES. That's 22+ million they spent of their OWN money to start with.

Does it change that fact that they have spent practically 0 in the end?

they tried to buy Adam and also made a 20 million bid for Richards. What else did you want them to do?

They have also cleared our debts with ther own cash...

Hate to say it, but maybe Torres knew the owners are full of s**t and thats why he left.

Hope it is not true and they actually go out and buy players in the summer with their own money.

I am making no judgement, but fact remains.

If they don't seriously spunk out money in the summer and I mean 30-40 million+ net I will feel a big let down.

I know they have cleared the debt and all that but football is an unforgiving busniess and clearing debt is not investing in the team, that is clearing up the mess the vermin created.

While we have stood still at best(I'd say gone backwards) under the vermin, Spurs, City have gone forward, not to mention Chelski, Mnaure and Arsenal.

Steadying the ship and go on as if these past disastorous 3 years haven't happen won't float.

We have fallen behind which means we need to catch up and fill the team up with quality players to compete with the top 5.
Now we dopn't have the CL income either so the club will need even more money invested from the owners themselves.

Chris Murphy: This is by no means confirmed but Andy Carroll supposedly text Newcastle fan and fanzine editor Steve Wraith to say,
"I'm gutted to be leaving my home town club, i was told to go. I didn't
want to leave that's why I signed a 5 year deal. I was pushed out of the
door."

don't mean to be a buzz kill but the above report is concerning...

As for Carroll I wish him all the best.

He is young, has promise and I just hope his hunger continues.

I just hope we can keep him for a long time to match his ambition.

I also hope he can cope with the pressure that comes with such a huge price tag.

Coming from ESPN:
11:27 Chris Murphy:

Who knows if that's true, but regardless it does seem like Carroll didn't want to move. I hope he can get over that and learn to love LFC...
