What is not a fact?

That we have bought 0 players?
That we have put lowball bids for Adam and Suarez?

But do go back under your rock and believe that all will be well and lots of players will come on the last day.... :no

And even if we don't sign anyone, it doesn't matter. We aren't going to catch 4th for CL, 5th is probably out of reach also. Signing players now is an ideal but not a necessity.

I'm excited to sign new players too but he's right.. It's not really going to do anything for us.  I think whether we sign new players or not, we will probably end up in the Europa spots.  If we sign new players we will possibly struggle a bit in the the couple weeks until they gel.  If we don't, we will continue to be inconsistent.

What an idiotic post, waiting to get the right signing at the right price is good sense and does not equate to selling Torres???

We might if we are very lucky get 5th spot in the league but it's fairly unlikely and surely we should be aiming to win the Europa league anyway so then who gives a cr@p, lets spend the rest of the season in finding out who from the current squad needs selling and identifying new players to sign in the summer.

Yes lets go panic buy and buy 2nd or 3rd rate players like we used to do just for the sake of spending money.

I would rather that we don't spend money this January because of inflated prices and spend money in the summer when prices are reasonable. I just hate it when we have to go spending spree just because we need players.

Lets make use of players we have now, get Europa spot and invest in the summer.

Kenny will not fall into the trap that the previous managers have, and I am talking Hodgson, Benitez, Houllier and also to an extent Evans fell into.

He knows what  players he wants, and I do not think will comprmise in any way by purchasing poor mans replacements. He knows more than anything that quality beats quantity every time. THAT is the Liverpool way, as is acting at all times with dignity and integrity.

If he cannot get the players he wants this month, because he is man enough to not want to pay inflated prices, he will do the best with what we have and still improve.

Personally for what its worth I do think there will be another player coming in before the end of the month, however I do not think it will be Suarez. I would not be at all surprised to see Adam come, but can equally see Kenny keeping his powder dry until the summer.

My opinion is, that Kenny will want a player or two before the end of next season. This half season would be ideal to get new signings integrated into the club and the league fully so that we can expect the best from them next season.

But all this rubbish being posted about not getting anyone meaning disaster is pathetic. It will not be the end of the world if we do not sign anyone. Babel has gone, but does anyone really think that the youth players we have coming through at the moment would be less effective? of course not. So if we do not sign anyone we will have a few months to see more of Kelly, Pacheco, Shelvey ect ect ect.

Some people in short are expecting too much too soon.... patience!

Sell Torres? I actually think you must of been dropped at birth with some of the comments and assumptions you make. I think you're trying to be funny. Either way it isn't working.

The last thing we want to make is mistakes when it comes to the transfer market. The January transfer market is a sellers market, you don't get good deals this time of year. Clubs making use of the market are normally are desperate for new players either due to injury or unsettled player sales. Hence the inflated prices, no club wants to weaken a squad mid season.

Our efforts to sign both Adam and Suarez is in a way desperate, because of the state we have been left in. But we aren't at risk of relegation and we most likely won't qualify for any European competitions through league placings. If we manage to seal a deal on either player for reasonable prices then so be it, no rush though.

Most Liverpool supporters could take or leave the Europa league. If we're in it, it's a bonus. If not, no one is really bothered. Why do you think gate attendances are so low for EL games?

With this in mind there is no real need to panic. The real rebuilding work starts in the summer when you can impose a brand new training regime and realistically start to rebuild a squad without unsettling the current squad members.

Hey Mr Sunshine coming out of my as$ ,dropped at birth or reborn wankker has nothing to do with my arguement. You are gonna lose Torres in the summer if you can't produce a winning Season - how's that to think about???

Nobody said go ahead and buy Babel back from Hoffenhaim for 30mill ,but FFS we have at least 6 weak positions which we can try and fill the gaps with and you say we can afford to wait??

You can't afford to wait for the Summer. But hey let's not "unsettle" the disfunctioning squad of players we have right? no problem i hope you are right.

Where the fk are all these rumors coming from that Suarez coming will mean the end of Torres?

In other rumors i've read that we have apparantely halted any further bids for both Adam and Suarez.

Pretty simple really.  We are willing to buy but will not over pay in a bidding war.  The right way to do business IMO.

Just for arguement's sake, and no I haven't read any rumors on this, why not put a bid of around 8 million or so for Landon Donovan?  Type of player that would bring some creativeness to the side and speed, not too expensive.  He was a real difference maker for the BS last year, showed he can handle the Prem.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

For :censored: sake

Liverpool have slammed the door shut on transfer negotiations for top targets Luis Suarez and Charlie Adam, as they despair at inflated fees for their top targets.
