Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

This is not a thread about Rafa, Roy or Kenny – weather they be good or bad managers.
I do not understand what the board, chairman etc have been playing at.
Rafa and Roy were both either sacked 2 early or 2 late. Giving the next manager no chance of changing anything the way they would like.
How can a new manager being Roy and Kenny get the back room staff in they would like let alone get scouts sent to destinations they choose, then be expected to buy and sell the players they would like to get a team together of their own. When they both get employed as manager during or so close to transfer window?

The new owners are still learning about football mate hence the timing. That being said, if Commolli has the role that's been described to us then he will have been working on transfer targets regardless of the manager.

You are missing one point here though. There is a massive gap in the management in that we don't yet have a CEO in place. That can only delay things.

Roy was only a yes man caretaker whilst the club was sold so it didnt matter.

Kenny will not be measured on this season if he hangs around.

Roy was already a dead man walking, it doesn't matter, he was appointed by a previous regime, now we have a new one and we need to start fresh. Let us hope that the king can keep up the good work and maybe get a contract with yes. I think we need someone new for the long term, but maybe King Kenny can leave us a team that is capable for someone new to carry forward and win trophies.

Don't be silly Kenny is the man, he knows how to get the best out of mediocre players so imagine what he can do with talented players. Sit back and enjoy the free flowing football it's been a long long time!!!

It was quite apparent that Roy was just an interim manager to steady the ship whilst the club was changing new owners.. This is what I cant get. A lot of people have been having a go at Benitez' signings and yet everyone knew he didn't have a pot to :censored: in(bar the occaisonal example) because of THOSE owners! Get it right! I hope Rafa comes back as well to just to :censored: a lot of people of.

It's simple really. Rafa got under the skin of the yanks. 1 bad season shouldn't have meant losing his job but it was the perfect opportunity for them to sack him.

Roy came in as a short term gap ie a yes man. I don't think they were expecting him to perform as badly as he did. They were probably expecting a top 7/8 finish and then he would move on in the summer once FSG got their own man in.

Kenny has come in, changed things up and it's evident. The fans are happy, the players look happier and they are playing with more confidence. I think FSG had probably planned to bring in their own man in the summer but if Kenny can get us to 7th/8th or better then IMO he deserves a fair crack of the whip ie at least 2/3 years. And I really hope he gets it.

My personal prediction is that we will finish 6th and win the Europa league.  :nod

for the way things have been this season that would be a crackin' result. Not what we were hoping for at the start of the season but all things considered that's great
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
