I think it'll be a while yet before those vulnerablities from set pieces are fixed. The players have jumped from 3 seperate systems in the past 6 months. All of a sudden, there is no words about Zonal Marking anymore. I wonder why.

I actually thought today's selection was decent. It worked in the first half, we should have finished the first half with 3-0 and Torres was absolutely fantastic in that half, so was Maxi and Meireles. Unfortunately, we must address our CB situation as they are costing us games.
I'll have none of that ''poor team'' selection, they were good and it worked in the first half. The only disappointment is that we didn't do enough with our substitution to change the course of the game when we went 2-1 down
metalhead wrote:Why are some people blaming the manager![]()
is it down to the manager not converting our chances into goals?
is it down to the manager that our defense is poo?
The only blame he gets is that he should have done better with the substitutions, althought, Shelvey, when he came on did really well! was impressed.

NOT impressed so far by Kenny
Bad Team choice !
OK Einstein given who was available who should we have started with ?
Disappointing result but at least and at last the lads looked up for it.
Are you serious??? for a 2nd straight game we have played the worst lineup we had all season long. Yes the worst!!
I have no idea which players was Kenny watching all the time he was at the stands but for sure he wasn't watching the right ones. The boys were up for it i give him that ,but the WRONG boys!
Torres a lone striker again for Fck sake - if it continues like that i'm afraid he would kill himself in the middle of the match.
Johnson LB?? No Left Leg how can he be a LB?? FFS you have Aurellio for that.
Spearing and Lucas??? Spearing just returning from a long absence and both are mediocre defensive CM - who is supposed to support the Attack??
Kuyt and Skertel have at least justified some bench time why do we insist on them everytime??
And what about the Subs?? OK Agger is sick fair enougn ,but we needed attack and speed so we go for Shelvi for Meireless which was decent and where is the last Sub?? Just cowaradly and plays.
Total disappointment in Kenny's picking and tactics ,just plain terrible!

Yea he scored the goal that was nice, but other than that he consistantly played out of position and gave the ball away time and time again. He had a very off game. Kelly started strong but seemed to die off a bit at the end. Kuyt had an ok second half but wasn't that great. Didn't see maxi in the first half at all except that missed chance from 3 yards, he was nowhere to be seen today. Skrtel was horrible. I hate to say stop starting Skrtel because my girlfriend loves him but it seems like his time has come. Lucas was alright today. I thought Agger did well in the first half. Reina seems to be misjudging too many things lately. I thought Johnson did decent today, but the way he played always getting the ball to his right foot and doing more offensively than defensively just proves the point he needs to be tried at right mid or nowhere at all. Spearing was alright. Made some little mistakes but worked his @ss off.

We didn't control the game properly, but were hard-working and sharp enough to fend them off, then create the chances and score the goal that gave us a deserved lead. Everton were poor, though. The second half was frankly shocking from our point of view, and serves as another painful reminder of just why our squad needs a major rebuild - not just tinkering, a major rebuild. Everton upped the tempo and we crumbled under the pressure. Why? The midfield couldn't get hold of the ball and that exposed our defence, a rickety one it is, to pressure it couldn't cope with. All season, when we have been put under that kind of pressure - when our midfield and defence have limited time and space on the ball - they choke and any semblance of fluency and cohesion disappears. The mix of quality both in terms of technical ability and physical ability is miles from where it should be for a club of our stature. The equaliser was probably deserved, but a win would have been fortunate.
