LIVERPOOL GET READY TO BID FOR MANCHESTER UNITED STAR ..

After watching his impressive display in the recent cup game, Fenway Sport Group, rumoured to be ready to splash the cash after Kenny Dalgish recent ultimatum is said to prepare a shocking 65 millions bid (also including a Fernando Torres swap) for the Manchester United star Howard Webb, who looks like the best possible partner for their future acquisition Luis Suarez.

While defense and striking options have also been considered as serious problems, with experienced england internationals like Carlton Cole, and rising stars like Stephen Huth also linked with a move to Merseyside, Damien Comolli, the recently appointed director of football strategy, has identified the lack of a good referee as the most pressing issue. "He can be usefull in both attack and defense with his card play, and his favorite  proves he can be a true red." said our always reliable anonymous twitter source. "His stats for united are impressive, making him their most dangerous player at home." he added.

When it's still unclear if Sir Alex Ferguson would accept the deal, being especially fond of this player, the sale of the goalkeeper Pepe Reina as part of the deal may help convince him ; and with Luis Suarez already in Melwood for medical tests, the Liverpool owners have no reason to refuse.

What happened to all they hype about Dalglish meeting with Henry on Friday and he would come out knowing how much cash he will have in Jan?  They made it sound like there would be some huge announcement...

Hopefuly there is and all the playing down talk over transfers is just a smoke screen. If not Championship here we come. Or the best we can hope for is we finish mid-table and Torres and Reina leave us in the summer.

If they are serious about getting back to the top of the table they would open their :censored: pockets up now. I know Henry has openly said the new fair play rules was the main reason behind buying us but he gonna ultimatley gonna be able to hide behind that rule in terms of big spending.

Bav you need to brish up on the new fair play rules.

In essence the fair play rules are a break-even rule but there are some factors you clearly aren't aware of.

1 - The break-even figures are calculated over a 3 season average.

2 -  Clubs must not return losses of more then €45m (£38m) for the 2012-15 period. This figure reduces every year after 2015.

Essentially, you can over spend what you want, as long as you recoup the money by 2015.

NESV could splash serious cash in the summer to strengthen as long as they didn't accrue a £38m loss over three years.

Man City are :censored:  :D  Id hate to be in thier position right now..........................................

Bottom  line he`s a model pro who plays for his shirt and he`s better than Lucas and Pulson.
6m would do it.
We need a comanding CB and a forward of some kind. Someone who is comfortable wide and through the middle. The rest can wait untill summer.

That would be a good bit of work for January.

I don't think we'll get three players (unless a kid is included), so I'd take the CB and forward - but I'd want them to be walking into the first XI, rather than just knocking on the door - someone to partner Agger, with a goal threat at set pieces, and a forward/wide player. Wouldn't hurt if they were an expert corner taker as well...

well as I see it the longer the better.  If they were going to say you have 10 million pounds, it wouldn't take that long to talk about all the possibilities.  If they say you have 30 million pounds then they could very well spend half the night talking about the possibilities.

I don't think there is an actual "transfer kitty". I think if the right player is available, the money will be there so bring him in.  If there isn't a move that doesn't make sense, It won't be made.

I think it's a good thing that there have been no statements as to how much there is to spend and who the targets are.  Keep everything behind closed doors.  It'll keep prices down and you don't run the risk of plssing off the club you are dealing with.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

To date we haven't signed any players yet. We've tried to get Adam and Suarez and have been scoffed at by their respective clubs for being so cheap. Contrary to what the new owners claimed, they didn't put up sufficient funds to buy those much needed players, plain and simple.

16 million for Adams, 30 million for Suarez, and now Villa have thrown a spanner in the works paying 24 million for Bent the worlds gone mad.

Our owners have every right to scoff at the asking prices.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
