i dont understand why we dont hurry and start building the damn thing, from what ive heard it will cost around £100 million, which is nothing compared to the reported £400million arsenal will be spending on their stadium of similar size so why dont we stop farting around and start building? ???

Just because our stadium will cost less than Arsenal's doen't mean that it won't be as nice.

Strangely enough, nowadays, it is actually cheaper to build a completely new stadium as opposed to renovating an old one. Take the grounds in Portugal for Euro 2004 as an example!!!

i didnt say i woudnt be as good, i was making the point that our stadium will be considerbly cheaper than our rivals will be paying so lets take this advantage and get our stadium complete before they do.

they should design the new anfield like the old roman collusseum. similar but better than the san siro. It would be very intimidating to the opposition. Psychology is all important in football now

The design and styling are ultimately limited by the council's planning regulations. Because it's to be built in an open, public area, the design has to be fairly benign and not too imposing. So I think from the outside it'll look big but little else, it's on the inside where some design flair would be welcome. As long as they call it Anfield and it holds enough fans with a distinct "Kop" area then the rest will come naturally I hope. I just pray it's not gonna be hijacked by the corporate w**kers and christened the Carlsberg BT Reebok McDonalds theatre of bollox. Just Anfield is enough for me.
