THE OFFICIAL KENNY DALGLISH THREAD - Return of the King

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know this sounds completely barmy, but with Gerrard out for the next two games, there is evidently no steel or creativity in our midfield so I would be tempted to put Kuyt in there next to Spearing. Both players who will fight for the shirt.

I honestly think that Kuyt could do a job in the middle. He's good at retaining position, good in the tackle and can attack from deep setting up the likes of Pacheco and Torres. He's been playing on the right for god knows how long now so for me would make more sense to stick him in there so what he can create from there.

Next game I would play this:

                                          Reina

Kelly                 Skrtel                     Agger                   Aurelio

Johnson             Kuyt                       Spearing              Babel

                                    Pacheco

                                     Torres

On a side note, I can't believe some of the posts on the offo last night of some people saying 'Kenny Out'. He's only been in the job a week - not even that. Absolute disgrace. Sooner we rid of them people and get behind the club the better.

I have faith in Kenny. He will turn it around.

Remember, Under Houllier, Rafa, and Hodgeson (so going back a good number of years) The team was modelled on being defensive. Kenny is introducing the attacking model, and it will take a few games for players to adjust to this mentality and get the balance right. Following on from the two games, I can already see slight improvements going forward.  I'm sure there has been less hoofing the ball up as well, which is a good thing.

Players need to improve 100% on their first touch. I thought Kuyt had rubber bands for legs yesterday, same goes for Babel when he's playing.

It's interesting to note that Kenny has given most players a chance over the last two games, and I think he knows exactly where improvements are required. I reckon that the likes of Paulson, Mierelles? and a couple of others will be shown the door.  Hopefully Kenny will bring in at least 2 players before the window shut (provided he's given enough money to spend).

How can you blame Rafa when he had squad we werent fighting relegation battles.

Our previous owners got us into this mess, and let hope Kenny can guide us out.

Though obviously if he doesnt some people can be happy with most important priority on this forum.

We've got Kenny back, despite the fact he's been out of the game for longer than Torres has been in it.

We better pray he hasn't lost his touch, otherwise we're going down. FACT.

One training session

Its going to take a lot more than that to rebuild their self belief and confidence they have lost during the 6 months with Hodgson

I dont want to blame anyone. I want to move on.
But if people want to play the blame game then Benitez is not blameless. To what degree is questionable, but he is to blame as well.
Things are not black and white and just blaming Hodgson for our plight is silly and unhelpful

There's no point blaming anyone now. What's done is done isn't it? If we were to be successful in our witch hunt would we go from 13th to 4th/3rd place? No of course not.

We just need to have faith that kenny will turn things around and even though he has only had two games, he will know now who he can/can't rely on. I wouldn't be surprised if Spearing and Pacheco get the nod next game with Kelly retaining his place.

Is not contraditory at all. I said I dont want to, meaning Id rather not. I didnt say I wont.
I dont want to play the blame game, but I will if others say Benitez is blameless.
Its far easier if we move on
Does that clear it up?

And now we can watch as Kenny has his repuation tarnished as he guides us from one embarressing defeat to another.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

thats not slagging off KK, its slagging off the team, Shanks couldnt get a result of this bunch of prima donnas, and the way our fans are lately boos may come along, as ALL fans are fickle in todays game.

Its the players who have a lot to answer for, but if they continue playing as they have all season then KKs reputation will be sullied by the eejits lacking desire
