This is getting very interesting now ...

Rafa was 'the' man a far as 92% of the supporters were thinking potentially more I held him in good regard.

I think Rafa destroyed the club as he did with Valencia please take time out to look the impact he made with the club when Liverpool bought him .... Valencia were in an absolute mess.

Rafa was found out .... finally .... and STILL people wanted him to stay ...!!!

Roy for all his faults was brought in to steady the club .... no chance .... supports didnt give him a chance and were calling for his head I wanted him to have time ....posters on here were constantly saying ROY OUT ROY OUT .... f**k of ROY etc etc

I have been hearing that the players didnt want to play for him .... I am speechless.

It was obvious what was going to happen ... fans wanted action and wanted it NOW Roy was given no time and no money ......and we wanted his head.

King Kenny comes in ..... our savour ..... we all go mad .... and now I hear LETS GIVE KENNY TIME!!!!

WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON!!!

well i've been proven wrong. However, Nesv were VERY reluctant to bring in Kenny because

A) he wants the job long term. They aren't sure he's the right man.

B) He's been out of the game for 13 years. The premier league has changes a LOT since then.

The only reason they got rid of Roy was because the fans hounded him out. He knew it was a huge mess, but our fans wouldn't listen.

Finally and what I cannot get my head around .... this is following on from my earlier post is whatever we pay our players and whatever our players are worth I watched a match last night from the comfort of my home and was watching a team built in the past 5 years to win the premier league ... to be in the top 4!!!

Bottom line is whatever people say Blackpool were built by a manager and bought on a budget of around 5 million ....

I am still speechless

there were only a few oh us that understood how bad our team was at the end of last season and the start of this season.
they did not play for the manager, Rafa or Roy. and they have not yet dont it for kenny.

not many cut it in my view.

Lets not get carried away, we're not going to get relegated. Our home form and the crap teams below us will see to that, however I dont think playing a midfield consisting of poulsen lucas & meireles is filling many people with much confidence. Johnson should be moved forward on the right to play in the Kuyt position, this would give us better offensive possibilities and what little defensive attributes he has could be used to help Kelly at right back. A combative Shelvey should now be blooded in for the fight instead of the woeful poulsen. Again Aurelio should be used in a more advanced position on the left in much the same reason as Johnson, accomodating Agger at left back as he's a liability in central defense atm. Ngog should not be starting any more games this season, Babel should be given a run out alongside Torres we would then be able to to make a decision to sell him or keep at the end of the season.

He was a pathetic appointment, and those who hired him need to hang their heads in shame, him and our players twit & tw@t are responsible for the mess we find ourselves in !!!!

No, he wasn't. He was brought in to try and fix this awful mess that our last owners and manager left behind. My point is, he also had experince of dealing with relegation scraps.

You two are completely deluded if you think you can absolve any blame on Hodgson for our current plight. You can put it all down on to the lack of quality and depth in the squad and let's be honest, take Carra, Gerrard, Torres and Cole out of our teamsheet and name for name it does look pretty bleak. But form and belief come into it as well. Roy did a poor job whichever way you look at it. some of our players are in a shocking state at the moment and the minute Blackpool equalised last night I bet they were thinking "here we go again", I know I was. The owners need to spend this transfer windo, that can't be escaped but it was the right move to bring in Kenny for the rest of the season. 7_Kewell can sit there and say it wasn't, and Lakes, you can play devils advocate as is often your want but that's the truth of it. Fans might have gotten carried with the Kenny the mesiah with his magic wand stuff but it was still the right move.

Kewell are you sayinmg you would have persisted with Hodgson? Are you suggesting that if we'd all left him alone and not booed or called the phone-ins to demand his exit that things would have turned out ok if he'd been given a few more quid to spend in Jan? I wouldn't have given him ten quid after the mess he made of his first few transfers.

and replaced with a guy who has been sacked from his last two jobs and has been out of the game for 13 years? That's a massive gamble, because Roy wasn't going to send us down.

I hope, and pray, that Kenny is the right man. because if he isn't, we're all going to watch the painfuil process of a legend taking us into the Championship.

Hodgson wasn't the right man for LFC, i accept that, but he wasn’t going to take us down either. I would have waited until we had lined up a long term replacement. Do it properly or not at all, that's my view.

My worry is that we're now in a downward spiral and we've taken a massive gamble by putting Kenny in charge.

Don't get me wrong, i think he's a legend and i was gutted when he left us in 1991…absolutely gutted. He should have come back in the mid 90s and still be in charge after winning us the league and everything else. However, that didn’t happen.

Instead, after being out of the game for a huge amount of time, he’s been dropped into a relegation battle, something he’s never had to deal with. I’m worried we’re asking too much

ok so kenny has not been able so far to lift the team when it comes to results, so if we get beat at the weekend you should be the first persron on here to ask for him to be sack?

the point is mate when it come to Roy he got the job as he was a firefighter manager, to try and do a lot with not a lot.

i dont think any of us said he was the right man for the job but at the time the club was in such a mess with the owners and what players we had the board knew he was right for the club, i just think it was a bit too much for him to fix in such a short space of time, even if kenny had been given the job right from the start i dont think our results would have been much better.

the players have not worked out for the last two managers, time to face facts that we need a lot of new players at this club, and yes you must ask why we need so many new players when over the last 6 years we have had 76 new players come into the club.

we need a new striker, 2 defenders......and going by last night a whole new midfield.

Well you should do. Our home form is too good to get us relegated.

20 points at home this season (2 points per game). That matches Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea to a lesser extent.

Based on our current home form alone we should accumulate another 18 points.

For us to get relegated we would have to not win again away from home. IMO I cannot see us not winning another away game this season.

What have you based that on? We're only 4 points above the drop now, Hodgson had us in the bottom 3 for a few weeks earlier in the season and I suspect we would have also lost the last two games had Hodgson still been in the hot seat so your assertion that Hodgson "wouldn't have taken us down" and that it is somehow more likely near doesn't really hold up for me.
