Rest assured you never paid for my education but I can't say for me of yours.
Redrunner do you begrudge everyone who goes to University, do you know some of the valuable research that goes on in Liverpools Uni? Would you prefer that instead of paying taxes for students to attend Uni we dispence with them all together, that would help our workforce compete in the world economy wouldnt it or perhaps you would prefer to let the Unis take on overseas students only as to make a load of money instaed?
For your info I am a graduate who now works for the Department of the Enviroment, I pay taxes as well as pay back the loan I took to get through the three years. And no I am not an academic type, at school I was very average but later in life when I wanted to improve myself I worked hard and went to University. I know its because you are ignorent and I can forgive you for that but having come last in a working class family of 9 and not one attended a uni I believe I am entilted to a little more respect.
I pity you I really do because for all those who attend university they have an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives as well as learning about whats in the big wide world and learning about people from other cultures and creeds. You see this issue isnt just about University for you is it its about a sence of frustration why didnt you get a chance why should I pay my taxes for these people to go to Uni, Ive worked bloody hard all my life etc. Its sad because when you have kids if you dont already you will probably pass this feeling on and deny them the chance of a lifetime. I suggest that you crawl back under the rock you came from if you cant offer something positive and friendly on the forum, we have enough ignorent forum members on here
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.
